Here's my situation. I have a iMac which i have guitar rig 3 currently installed on. I've been using pro tools 7.4.2 but i intend on switching to logic studio 9. I intend on getting a laptop for christmas to incorporate guitar rig into a live setup for myself. Here is my issues, My primary recording machine is Mac. I would like to get a window's 7 laptop because i can use the window's machine easier with other non musical applications as well as my live setup. Also a window's laptop is significantly less expensive than a Macbook.

Question 1. If i download Guitar rig 4 update, do i have to download and pay for a window's download, and a mac download?

Question 2. If i do decide to go with a window's based laptop. Will i be able to transfer loops or amp configs from the windows machine to the mac machine?

    Any comment is appreciated.

    Thanks.
    Jeff.

I have been having problems with Windows 7 not loading the presets list correctly.

I don't think everyone is having this problem. I did find one posting from early in the year about the Beta of GR4 missing the preset list also.

Yet I see no other mention of it out there.

For what its wort I think windows 7 is a really cool OS, and the only problem I have with my guitar Rig is that it has a problem reading the presets from the Windows 7 Users folder correctly.

For some reason many of the other forum members don't have much to say...

this isn't really a feature suggestion. posting under the main forum would probably get you more responses.

Windows 7 is a great OS for gaming. Just really nice. For audio I've gone back to winxpsp3 due to my Audigy 2 plat pro having no midi input/output under win7 (killed the deal straight away for me when I got a keyboard 2 months ago and I've got rid of win7 completely). Mega fail in this department (no thanks to Creative).

Otherwise, it's a solid and well-made os. Newer devices with newer drivers may fair better, but, audio side was problems from day 1 on win7 for me, although, when it worked it was as good as winxp.

I'm now exclusively back to winxpsp3 on both desktop (nice i5 750@4Ghz) and laptop (Toshiba 1.4Ghz).
