    Hi all,
I have just purchased my first macbook 13" Pro which I am going to use to play out at parties and clubs.
I have had Traktor for a few months at home in my studio setup with my Windows desktop.
My question - When I first started DJing out digitally ie on a laptop, I was using PCDJ on Windows XP (to the chagrin at the time on vinyl heads around me.....and to you I say that I can mix vinyl on 3 decks + the laptop across 6 channels with live input.....I just choose not to in a club !)
......anyway.....when I first started playing out digitally, the biggest mistake I made was using a laptop which I used for day to day life. First big gig, Norton anti-virus kicked in half way through my set and crashed PCDJ (which made the vinyl heads laugh, I can tell you). After recovering from that, in the same set my power-saving mode kicked in (after someone stood on my power adapter knocking out the cable).
So my question.......Do I need to turn off anything specific on my macbook to prevent any pop-ups, system alerts (and sounds!) and suchlike that may interfere with a 4 x deck, heavy sample loaded set ?
What would be awesome is if I can tell it "If Traktor is running, do nothing else!"
Or am I worrying about nothing ?

you are worrying about nothing ! no pop-ups , no alerts etc...
+ Everything runs fine with Usb2 . About Usb3 i think the latest hardwares are working fine, not sure for the old hardwares.

    Welcome To The Forum.

I have posted this many times before but here goes again.

The Guide To Using a Mac For DJing.

    Step 1: Turn it on.

    End of Guide.

In all seriousness, people will advice you to install a whole slew of apps to keep the Mac running properly. Some maybe worth looking at but personally I have never installed any 3rd party system apps on any of the 7 Apple computers I have owned.

Just change the Energy Saver settings so that the screen saver does not come on, Computer Sleep off, Display Sleep off, uncheck the option to 'Put Hard Disks to Sleep'

I have never had a live crash or any audio issues. Not ever.

+1 to previous replies. Set your power preferences to keep the screen alive and never sleep the machine and you'll be fine.

Any audible alerts will by default go through only the onboard sound and not your Traktor audio sound card.
