all this WOWing. WTF? WOW is NOT a factor man. This is not an idol contest. Anyone looking for something to wow them don't actually have a clue what they want, or need. WOW is to express amazement at something, always have been. Like, WOW that's a big dick, or, WOWee can you scratch with those tits? Or, WOW, look, that dude can fly with his S4, that's amazing!

Anyway, my wife just looked at my groin and went WOW! So I'll be signing off now.

    WOW!

no, I know exactly what I want. To spin music, and both programs do great jobs at that. So really it comes down to "Do I want to use the more common DVS in my area" or "Traktor has X that makes it worth sticking with it". If that "X" doesn't appear with the announcement, I'm switching. WoW deez nutz in ya mouf!

It just seems a bit backwards to me. I'm not gonna look for the X factor to see if it's worth sticking with something. If you're using Traktor at the moment, doesn't it already have the factors you're looking for? It appears like you're looking for an excuse to ditch Traktor. Looking for an X factor is retarded. Shouldn't it simply be a case of what meets your needs best, which system allow you best to unleash that good ol' true potential.

If, at the time when I switched to digital, I had to choose a DVS on factors that wow me, I would've gone straight to Serato. I mean, the GUI looks so cool, all those colours and black background, a proven track record, etc. etc.

But hey, I went for boring old Traktor with its near monochrome interface and big ugly yellow waveforms. Why? It's so much better. It performs in every area of my digital needs. I can do so much more with my music.

And I'm one of the monkeys who will stick with TP. I won't go to S4. Despite it's massive wow factors, it doesn't meet a basic simple need of mine, 4-band Xone EQ. So looking for that X factor will help me jack sh*t.

Perhaps you should just switch and get it over and done with.

    ^^ Word.

Most of us are using DVS software for a few years.

This means we are used to our workflow and have - most likely - invested countless hours in beatgridding, setting cuepoints, crates and playlists.

I nshort, 1 new feature will not make me switch.

But, as a brand-loyal customer, I do expect the core of a system (incl. workflow) to improve regularly.
Unfortunately, marketing and thus engineers are focusing on the wow-factor too much.

    New WOW features are everywhere:
DVS: 4 decks - FX - Samplers - Integration (bridge)

So besides new usefull additions - I hope for Traktor Pro 2 to have:

    - 64 Bit Support
    - Better file management (move files)
    - Load to first cuepoint (or first detected soundwave)
    - Master Compressor
    - FX Sends (pots instead of on/off)
    - Smart integration of internal clock and timecode
    - Dual column sorting
    - List location memory
    - Single Deck play funtion (Itunes replacement + Cuepoint editor function)

I say screw samplers - video - and all the BS Wow factor that whoo the starter-folk.
You need bells and whistles? Great.

I just need my trusted tool for the job to get better.

That's a retarded example. Since when is windows 7 or windows 8 the same?
Look I'n the video it reads traktor scratch pro. And just look at other software with payed upgrades. Virtual Dj 5,6,7 Torq 1,2 abelton 1-9. Ect.
Another example serato . Serato hasn't charged for upgrade that's why they don't have serato 2. Another thing is if traktor doesn't use another name that means anyone who doest want o upgrade is stuck with tsp 1.2.7. In wich case is retarded. The new tsp (with the same name) would have to start with 1 .2.8. A first.
Just stating what I think.Or I could be wrong and I'n the video it might read tsp because it's just a prototype. And the plan on changing it. In wich case I'm right! Lol

I think, in so far as you say the update will be free, that you will be proved wrong, and no amount of semantics will help!

I agree, and yet don't completely agree. I personally am looking forward to the sampler decks. However, updates to core functionality (such as flexible damn beatgrids...hello, it's 2011!) are KEY to user loyalty.

    *waits patiently until Tuesday*

I dint care if I have to pay. It's a small investment , I make money off if it anyway. But I'm curious of the whole name thing. Am I alone on this?

Remember, Traktor 3 was just Traktor 3...but people had to pay for Traktor 3.4....or was it 3.3? The one they paired with Traktor Scratch (not Pro).

Serato Scratch Live can only work with certain Rane hardware. You can't dj with it without using the hardware.

They give away the software for free because it's worthless without the hardware.

Add to that, the hardware upgrades to use new features are expensive.
