Hi all. This question is for allround dj's... I'm a Traktor user since 2.62 but haven't switch to Pro. Why not? It's the way i play in my residence places. I work in external mode, 2xCDJ & DJM800. The clubs want commercial music, fast switching in styles. So i play from R&B to Eclectic to Trance 140BPM and mix to Rap music 70BPM on and on. I never worked with Playlist or Track collection, i just select the 'style' folder from the explorer tree, and select tracks on playcount/bpm/rating. See attachment 'Structure'.
Now TPro has (for my opinion) a real nice GUI, brighther, better than T3 so i installed, write tags, copied collection, it works as it should be...But TPro is slower because it reads info from the tags. It works fast if you play from collection, genres, labels, artist but when you go to explorer and switch from folder to folder (the way i work) it takes a sec to fetch all info to read the tags. And some folders are filled with 200 tracks so it could be 2 secs sometimes. (7200RPM HD) This is the reason i still haven't switched to Pro. Is there a DJ who works same way, with 'style' folders who found out a faster way? Thanks for your time!

I used to something similar to that.. only my stuffi set up by record pool>genre> date... I am not sure if you have all your stuff added to the traktor library.. but what i did was create a playlst structure that was the same as my explorer playlist... i would uplad a pic but do not have anything bu tracktor on my dj laptop but lets say i belong to 3 record pools we ill use the names rp1 rp2 and rp3
    my structis is
    rp1(folder)
    r&b (folder)
Dec 08 ( playlist with all the stuff in this folder from dec 08

i find that because all the info is in the collection, it doesnt have to read the tags and it pull up a whole lot faster... hope this helps:D

I work almost exactly like you do. Seriously...that's crazy.

I decided to make playlists and play from them. Seems to work better.

I worked in the same way, after making the playlist sit in the same way as I have in the explorer it works a treat and I am very happy with pro now, it did take a lot of time to sort out but was worth it.

Here 's what i did - how you do this?

Ok, ik made playlists from all my 'style' folders and yes, things work smooth but how when you want to add new tracks? Just manually add them to the created playlists? Guess what.. i work with import dates too (to browse quickly for new added tracks) TPro just set 25 tracks to import date 1/1/2009. This program is useless for me this way!
