Reaktor has partnered with the Highland Contemporary Flock, + Builders Queelum + Paule + Cologo + Freidrich who have all contributed significantly to this project, to create a Bleat library that gives you access to this unique, experimental ensemble.

This patch contains multi-sampled sheep, goats, dog and some heavy growler bass sections, and has been recorded at a very wet mountain side on the wonderful Isle of Skye.

With a host of dynamically controllable, never-before-sampled articulations, this rich set of incredible recordings are both playable and musical, and will transform your next Flock composition.

Nopog's also had a hand in this. As Head of Product Design, he created the holomorphic Turing functions (½BAA-xN+1<Z=1)” approach to curate a musical, deeply complex set of never-before-sampled Bleat articulations - a complete set of sheep styles that give you, at long last, an ability to demo and create cutting-edge Flock writing;

Background
Original member Flossy of the Huge Flock of Sheep started experimenting over three years ago, as she grazed, shat and contemplated the randomness and complexity of the Universe, she talked with the others in the Flock about how they could make a library that was unlike any other, and it became clear that working with Nopog could only lead to that outcome…

Winner of the Ensemble category at the REAKTOR 5 Music Awards 2014, the first edition of 'Huge Flock of Sheep' established itself as one of the planets most innovative and respected ensembles – promoting the best new sheep and hybrid dog/goats collaborations to an increasingly wider audience.

Since then the Flock has collaborated with a distinguished array of composers, artists and bands, the likes of The Bleatles, RamioHead Caberman, and Jaar of Nezborlan and the Ram-schtein

This ensemble allowed them to do two things: capture the unique throat techniques and styling of an extremely exciting group of sheep for use in your own compositions and create new Bleats patterns, that are only possible by harnessing the power of R6 technology.

oh no.. epic fail...it must have been last minute stage fright... Flossy was looking very nervous earlier!

not sure about embedding the samples, it might need a redesign

 

Cal, do you know FLOWs by Tim Exile? There are no drop zones but the samples are alle in.
Which way? I don't find one of your 32 dropzones on the gui.

sorry everyone....the hills are silent and Flossy has run away to a rugged Martian Mountain where the hills match her horns!

Not tried Flows, and not sure sure about the silence.. its a mystery, the samples are embedded in the table list ok.. its 72mb unzipped, so its got the samples in there somewhere!!

i am just gonna rebuild part of it with some primary samplers..... the snaps were not recalling anyway...

Here is a part of repaired flossy on mars.
What have I done? Put all animal samples from Reaktor forum in a folder.
Set both flocks to visible and push one by one the animals most are woolys on the 32 mouse areas, save the ensemble. Leave and run again. Oops - the same popup missing 32 samples. But ... my sheeps are in there and gave again a concert. So here is one minute sheep & dog ambience.
The size of the ens is now 73,005!

When I moved the samples the sheeps are gone - no sound. Therefore was the hint about FLOWs. Tim gave an extra folder called samples with different subfolder.
So you haven't change anything inside the ens. Create a folder copy the samples inside and zip the ensemble with the sample set - that's all!

 

One thing more, Cal. If you compress with 7zip the size is under 10 mb. 7zip is a free zipper in version 16.4.

Jim, in a table list. Please have a look some post upper. The hardcopy from FLOWs: left side the table list right the gui of it.

 

What shall we do with the flock in hell?

 

What I don't know is how get Tim the samples in the Table List. There is no Table Info in connection with Mouse Area in his ens.
Or can you delete this if the Table List is full filled?

 

Flossy managed to line up The Flocks next gig .. on Martian Vocanic Crater!

The Volcanic laval setting was so spectacular that the gig was a huge hit... but unfortunatley the local Martian Stegosaurus was a bit hungry... some of the tender lambs of the Flock are sadly no longer with us.

the Cusp Fire runs through a vowel filter and adds into the mix

I am feeling really inspired by Stego.. i am thinking a 100 strong Dinosaur Generator could be next.. perhaps with some atmospheric laval flow sounds and a probablistic volcano generato.. that explodes at 0.55

good idea the B view... Stego.. as in Stegosaurus.. nothing hidden!

i can improve this quite a lot still... i should try a different sampler that can take a map so the engine sounds can be swapped easy

ambient soundscapes is one if the types of enesmble that could work really well multi-cored aswell.
