Hi there! i'm a total reaktor noob and i need to use something to write automations for a light show using wave forms like sine and saw, and i'd like to have them written automatically by reaktor setting the wavelenght, the range, etc... how can i do this? it's the only way i will probably use reaktor in my life, so if you can please explain this as if i was a 1 year old kid, it would be greatly appreciated :D

    Thanx a lot in advance!

I would have checked the programs that follow your DMX-interface first. It should include something that would be better suited to your use. Reaktor isn't a quick fix, and absolutely not in regards to DMX signal conversion.

While Reaktor can control a MIDI enabled DMX-interface, it is not ideal. If the interface is poorly written (which it could be regarding MIDI, the guys writing these are light engineers after all), there will not be support for polyphonic midi, which again makes it a delayed mess to (not really) work with. In addition you have the scaling and patching thing to figure out. MIDI = 128 channels/128 levels, DMX = 512 channels/256 levels - which means that resolution will be worse, and you will have to use two channels on one DMX channel (this isn't such a big problem as the first though).

that's not what i meant, my VST DMXIS doesn't have the possibility to write automatically automations, and there is no need to control it with reaktor, i can write with reaktor on an empty, sterile, reaktor automation, and the ctrl X + ctrl V on another one.. but anyway thanx for the fast answer :D

Okay, I wasn't aware of their system, but isn't it posssible to sync it with midi and run it as standalone?

i would have the same problem, if i have to do a sine wave to control the Red channel in a group of lights, writing it on an automation or on a midi track would be the same..
