x-1 is driving me to suicide

    I have had an x-1 for about 10 weeks now and i still have not managed to get it to work. I have installed all the relevant updates/drivers several times, when the controller editor is open it shows midi in lighting and it knows which pots are being selected however in Traktor midi signal is not being received. in the controller manager in Traktor x-1 does not show only generic keyboard, and in the 'add' menu only shows generic keyboard/ midi device, some denon and pioneer controllers. I am losing the will to live. i thought it was plug and play? :-S any help would be greatly appreciated.

    (Mac pro xeon , osx 10.6.8, Traktor version 1.2.2, controller editor v 1.3.5

    I think we're in the same boat. I've only been struggling with the Traktor Kontrol for the last few days but I need it to work ASAP and I've updated all the drivers and reinstalled everything several times. I'm also using a mac pro and I haven't installed any NI software on this device prior so there shouldn't be any out of date versions. I've browsed other threads and haven't found anything that's helped.

    Getting Kontrol X1 to work

    Hey I think in order to be plug and play you need to upgrade to Traktor version 1.2.4

    is this an update i have to pay for? it says im up to date in the service center and i cant find a link to 1.2.3 or later. the x-1 was out when i bought tis version of traktor and it was marketed as a plug and play device so why wont it work with 1.2.2? (thats a question for you NI) :-(

    Please have a look at the manual. The X1 operates in two ways: Midi and NHL. NHL is superior to Midi (higher resolution) and therefore should be the preferred method to use the X1. Midi is intended to be used for non Traktor software (like Serato Scratch Live).
    When you plugin the X1 it is in NHL mode. If you want to set it to Midi mode you have to Press Shift + Hotcue. YOU DON'T HAVE TO USE MIDI FOR PLUG AND PLAY IN TRAKTOR.

    Using the X1 in Traktor: You need at least version 1.2.3 (the version that ships within the box of the X1) This version is 16 months old now, the latest version of Traktor is 1.2.8. It is a free upgrade. It can be downloaded through the Service Center.

    After installing at least Traktor 1.2.3 the X1 should be recognized automatically. if it doesn't go to preferences, switch to the X1 tab and click on restore.

    just got the X1 ...same problem here...
    i have the Scratch PRO 1.2.7 ...latest drivers for the X1 ...I see it activated on my preferences menu but still it doesn't do anything...
    any ideas? :)
