    Hello everyone,

    So I'm playing on DJM 4 channel mixer with X1 & F1,

I want one X1 to control 3 decks, let's say I have 2 decks loaded up, if I try to switch the decks x1 controls to c&d so I can load a track to D (C is already controlled by f1) it doesn't let me!

Anyone knows how can I achieve this?

    Hello Folks in traktor world,
I am new to Traktor and recently took the leap into DJ control Surfaces and got both a Z1 and an X1 but would like them both to control only 2 Decks
    IS this possible?

I bought the Z1 becuase i wanted the simulation of the A/B switch and the X1 really has some more in depth features but i am just learning and i would really like to use just Decks A&B with both controllers. If Not then i think i have to return one
But i am hopeful there is a solution here!!

I’m not sure I understand what are you asking here.. It’s no rocket science, really. The Z1 is a mixer and the X1 is a deck controller. You can of course control (and mix) either deck A and B or C and D with your set up. But not both a the same time. For that you need two X1s and a four channel mixer.

Maybe is time you start to read the manual? Oh and Patrick, start your own thread. Is not nice to hijack some else thread with your own questions.

You can’t switch deck with the X1 I’m afraid.. You can only control A and B or C and D. So basically you can only control two decks at once. You need an extra X1 for that

i was erroneously searching through the Traktor manual and was missing the blinking A/B assignment
And in the meantime i even identified a typo in the X1 manual.....

"The first thing that will happen when connecting the X1 with TARKTOR is verification of the
current Deck setup. By default, the left LED display flashes “A” to indicate that Deck A is controlled
by the left side of X1, while the right display flashes “B” to indicate that Deck B is controlled
by the right side of X1. If you’d like to change this setup, you can do so with the Browse
    or Loop encoders"

Perhaps it could have been re-written as such:

"The first thing that will happen when connecting the X1 with TRAKTOR is verification of the
current Deck setup. By default, the left LED display flashes “A” to indicate that Deck A is controlled
by the left side of X1, while the right display flashes “B” to indicate that Deck B is controlled
by the right side of X1. If you’d like to change this setup, you can do so with the Browse
    or Loop encoders"

    • You can Set the DECK associations to A/B or C/D here and change assignment every time you run Traktor simply and easily by rotating the main browse wheel to the Decks you want and pressing the browse wheel to confirm your selection
    • NOTE***** When using the X1 controller in tandem with a Z1 or other controllers the X1 defaults to the 2nd set of DECKS [C&D] even if you have only selected 2 decks in the preferences -which can be confusing.
    • It's also easy to miss the blinking A/B selection if you start interacting with the program before making your controller assignments

See? Wasn’t so difficult to read the manual after all, wasn’t it? I still can’t phantom how you can miss something so basic, hijack a thread and downvote who is trying to help you.. classy

i join forums to get help and offer it. In 2020, your post of basically 'RTFM' two weeks after the post was at the very least unhelpful. But in the vein of community, i apologize if i offended you with my "downvote" i did what i hope others would. Post a helpful solution. These are new controllers for me and mapping is obviously what a bunch of these posts seem to be about. i was looking in the wrong place but your post did remind me to post the actual solution. Now we've both wasted enough time I'm sure and I hope others [including NI for the typo] might benefit
