Not sure whether upgrading from a different version of OSX to Yosemite makes a difference, but I can now report that with a brand new 15" Macbook Pro Retina (A1398), pre-installed with OSX 10.10 (and then upgraded to 10.10.2 on arrival), I have (almost) no problems running Traktor 2.7.3, with all drivers updated for my hardware (most are v2.7 driver-wise). Only issue is crackling (almost a vinyl crackle type sound) when using my Audio 8 DJ with an internal mixer or with other software as a second soundcard.

But my S4 MK2, F1s, X1 MK1, as well as Traktor itself, all behave fine so far. Haven't done an extended run yet (nor at a live gig yet) but will try later this week.

Ok so it appears that either the OS X update or traktors update (I can't remember which it was) completely destroyed my x1 mkII. I haven't been able to use my x1 since Jan.29 which is the day I posted on this thread about the issue.

I just reformatted my Mac, latest OS X, along with all the drivers required on NI's side and Im still getting the same problem, a dead x1 mkII with a message saying 'please plug the device into a powered usb' or something like that.

Just to confirm that the x1 is defective, I plugged the controller into a windows laptop with no luck, no lights emitting on initial connection, but for windows it wouldn't even attempt to download and install the drivers at all.

At this point I am really disappointed in NI's product and quality control. I can't be blamed for being upset, I only had the chance to use my x1 in the beginning of Jan.

note: My kontrol F1 works just fine as it should. So there isn't any other reason my x1 shouldn't perform any different. I am willing to just go ahead and purchase another x1 at my local store but I hope NI at least acknowledges the unfortunate event Ive addressed.

If you only bought the X1 in January it will be under warranty so you can return it.
Things do break - it happens.

I'm using Mac OS X 10.10.3 / Traktor 2.8.0 / Kontrol X1. The problem is that Traktor can't find Kontrol X1. What can I do so my setup works?

    Best regards,
    Michael

I am experiencing the exact same 10.10 connection issue. Native Instruments has TOTALLY dropped the ******* ball. They wont even reply to my support ticket on this issue. It's clear they don't care about supporting old hardware.

It took NI approximately 2 months to get back to me and the issue I was having with the X1 MKII. Not only did it take 2 months, there was no apology (typically with other companies you'll have the rep begin by saying '______, I'm sorry you are experiencing technical difficulties yada yada and so on). The 2 months reply I received was quite short and rude, "please provide a video of what's going on". I had fixed the problem with the x1 on my own long before and this guy is asking me to make a video, I lol'd and didn't respond. NI needs to seriously focus on better customer service instead of releasing products that are clearly not ready for practical use.

As to how the x1 MKII was fixed, I figured it had something to with the usb input as it was indicating that insufficient voltage was being received. I carefully opened the unit and removed the usb input, a new usb input component was then soldered on and the x1 has been working like new since then.

Yup, this is why I have moved to Serato. I had a problem the other day, they got back to me with a working solution within two hours. Anyway your solution can't be the same issue as mine given that I am experiencing it with both X1 mk1's I own.

Expect to wait at least 2months, NI is too busy pushing STEMS, they don't have time for you.

I had this exact issue. I ended up fixing it by completely deleting Traktor and reinstalling the latest version from scratch (saved the old tag files, etc). Fixed the issue, and was a pain in the ass that I had to do this.
