You're probably right, I've noticed this too! Every time I've reset everything because my X1 wasn't detected, the default settings have the "Import music folders at startup" disabled. As soon as I enabled this back, the X1 wasn't detected again. I thought it was simply a coincidence, but at the moment I've the option disabled and it still works.

Anyway it still an issue that I hope NI will fix in the future.

Hey!!! Im new in this forum. I`ve same problem with my X1 & traktor scratch pro 2.6.5.

I`ve another solution, when u will go djing, delete Traktor Settings.tsi and open traktor. In my case i use Audio A6/X1 MK1/MacBook Pro i/ 15" and i choose that i have not external controller, 2track decks + 2remix decks etc...

Automatically traktor recognise my x1 controller and select yes for active in controller manager the X1.

    and....... bualá

    it works!!!.

I hope that NI fix this issues because it is annoying to do this when I will go Djing.

PD: Sorry 4 my english, Im a Spanish NI user :p

It worked for 2 days and back to square again. Having manually load each track in decks is a pain in the ass, but NI isnt bothered to come up with a solution for this.

Guys, as i mentioned before, and as AndreB advised, unticking the first 6 options in "FILE MANAGEMENT" and launching traktor afterwards will allow you to run 2 X1 control on it ... what you have to do is when you wanna import your songs and arrange your library and all you tick those 6 options and fire traktor, when you finish and you are ready to play you set, you un-tick those first 6 squares in "FILE MANAGEMENT" and then you close and open traktor again, and then your X1s are ready to operate as before, I've been doing this for the past 2 weeks and its working like a charm !

The following works for me. The only thing you have to do more than before is to import your music folders with two clicks. That isn't a annoying workaround:

Un-tick "Import Music Folders at Startup" in "File Management".
    Restart Traktor.
    Your X1 should work now.

To import your new Tracks right click Track Collection and choose "Import Music Folders".

That's all. Please check that. NI has to fix that bug, of course but meanwhile i can work with that.

honestly, for me there is no major benefits in mavericks & 265 as its still just new look OS and same look Traktor app. but until its not perfect i feel OK to work with current set up

I completely forgot about this thread when updating my Air to Mavericks, but my X1 Mk1 still works just the same as before. Is there some specific setup where it stops working?

My Focusrite 2i4 seems fine too, but it's class compliant with no Focusrite drivers or software to go wrong.

The drive wiping is only related to outdated WD backup software. Using a hard drive through OSX Finder does not have an increased risk of wiping.

    Crazy stuff indeed.
I have 4 WD MyBooks all doing Time Machine or manual backups on 3 macbook pros (on Mavericks) with no issues. I have not used the WD SmartWare backup software only TM.

Has the issue been resolved in the new 2.6.6 version?

Mavericks 10.9.1 is out, actually there is a 10.9.2 beta too, I guess this can make a difference too?

    System spec:

    OS X Mavericks 10.9.1
    MacPro (2012)

I just wanted to chime in here — I am running 2.6.6. Previous to this I was running 2.5.1, and the **X1 worked just fine** under Mavericks. The issue, folks, is NOT Mavericks. The issue is any version of Traktor above 2.5.1 with Mavericks. The simple workaround here is to downgrade to 2.5.1., not downgrade to Mountain Lion (Mavericks is, on the whole, a good upgrade, especially for multiple monitors, and for the most part fixes the USB sleep issue mentioned above).

I'm also experiencing The Dreaded X1 Death but there's two work-arounds that do the trick right now:

    (1) Start Traktor. If you haven't already, Export your Pref/Settings. Run Setup Wizard. If necessary, restart Traktor to recognise the X1. Then Import your Settings. HOWEVER, once this only works as long as Traktor is running. You need to do this EVERY time you restart the software.

    (2) So, how to make it work-around permanent? *After* doing step #1 above, in Prefs/File Management, uncheck Import Music Folders. Restart Traktor. The X1 should be recognized now. Right-click on Track Collection, and Import Music Folders (this is all that setting does anyway).

Just wanted to follow up — I got ahold of support (hi Nick!) & they mentioned deleting the Traktor Settings.tsi. This has the same effect as running the Startup Wizard, basically. It resets everything but the X1 issue returns with a software restart UNLESS you uncheck "Import Music Folders" under Prefs/File Management. If you retain your existing settings and uncheck "Import Music Folders" it ALSO fixes the X1, so there's no need, actually, to rebuild your TSI settings.

Support was unable to replicate the issue w/ my setup (OS 10.9, Mac, 2.6.6), but this thread, I think, is demonstrative enough that the issue exists and is persistent among certain users. "Why" is some kind of mystery, but hopefully Karlos' attention with the Dev team will yield some results.
