    hello,
my loop and browser encoder knobs a very loose. The Browser encoder is so loose that it drops when i'm turning my x1 around. Noticed it today, don't know if it was like this since the beginning. My x1 mk2 is nearly one month old and was used rarely and carefully. The Knobs look fine from inside, nothing is broken or damaged.

    Anyone else experiencing this?

When I replace these knobs with DJTechtools Chroma Caps, will they retain their touch sensitivity?
Or should I just stick some thin piece of paper inside?

    hi,

das wechseln der kappe ändert voraussichtlich gar nichts, da ich denke, dass der poti das problem ist. bitte kontaktiere native instruments um nähere infos zu erhalten, oder deinen händler um ggf. garantieansprüche geltend machen zu können.

I just upgraded to X1 mk.2, I've used it for about 3 hours and i have the same thing, the loop encoders seem very loose, the left one is much worse though. I hope its not going to get worse because that means it will break at some point :(

On the plus side, the effect controls seem to be much better quality than on the mk.1 , i guess time will tell though..

my x1 mk2 is now on its way to NI for repair.
I guess it's only the rubbered knobs. The metal potis underneath look pretty solid.

Yesterday i got my X1 back. They sent me a new one. The knobs now feel pretty solid, but i don't know how long it will last.
Anyway, good and uncomplicated Service from NI!

according to DJTT, the Chroma Caps are not touch sensitive. "Chroma Caps fit perfectly on the NI Traktor Kontrol X1 MK2. Chroma Caps are NOT touch sensitive though. We recommend the following set". if you select native instruments then X1 mk2 it will display.

Mine had the same issue with the loose encoders. Ordered a replacement on amazon, and they had the same issue.

hey. i have news on this topic.
i replaced the loop-encoders with croma caps and fixed the browsencoder with a pice of paper and the touch still works.
BUT. after contacting NI about this problem.... they informed me that they will change the production of those encoders! the new stock of x1s will have this problem fixed. ni send me those new encoders for replacement for free... so if you all have this problem. contact ni and ask for new encoders!
and if you want to thank me for this hint ;-) give me a click for my new dj-mix: soundcloud.com/mcbeard/beard-tape010_bonsai_guest_mix

    thanx and cheers :)

I experienced the same problem. Send an email to NI, and without any charge they send me 3 new knobs. Thanks to Native Instruments for this great service!

Hey guys - Having the same issue with my X1, so I was pretty happy to come across this thread and get some new encoders. Was simple enough - emailed support describing the issue and received replacements in no time. However, I've discovered that the new encoders don't have the touch sensing function like the original.. Are these the same replacements that you all received?
