OK..So NI have told us that they will be offering x64 support for Kore and that is a good thing...Most gratefully received..

But how about we push them for multi core support as well ?

I think that it is the least they can do after this absolute fiasco that is surrounding the Kore issue..

It is crazy to see one indicator on a multi core CPU hitting the peaks when all of the other cores remain idle...

So I for one am prepared to sacrifice all of the other items on people's wishlists for two basic and essential elements that will keep Kore "viable" for quite a while longer..

x64 AND Multi Core Support ! SIGN UP HERE IF YOU ARE IN AGREEMENT !

I feel that this would go a long way to helping NI user's restore some faith in a company that have left them feeling violated and more than a little disillusioned...

Remember - they say that it is around 7 times harder for a company to build up a positive image than to generate a negative one - and NI have certainly done a lot of serious damage to themselves with this "unfortunate decision"

A user base can help to build a company up or to bring it down to it's knees !

It's your choice NI ! x64 AND Multi Core Support please...

Agreed! If both of these don't happen in a timely manner, I am done with NI and will tell everyone I know to do the same.

What if we started a campaign against Maschine? Trash it all over this forum and the web. We could comment daily on how Maschine is such a hunk of junk and buyer beware. You think NI would like that? Remember it is our opinion. How many of you researched online about a product before you bought it? Any opinions matter in your purchase decision? Man that sure would suck if NI's beatbox got loads of poor reviews. Remember NI, most of the people in general who own Kore are probably a wee bit smarter than those beatbox buyers. They could probably write some very convincing poor reviews that would scare most spear chuckers away.

Of course I agree (with DB's original post). But I doubt multi-core will be part of that because it will require a complete engine rebuild, and NI has said they hate the Kore engines now and won't race them. They've sold off all the remaining spark plugs and gaskets. Oh and by the way, the last of the heads and blocks got melted down Monday just before quitting time.

Seriously, I think the best we can hope for is to run mulitple instances (as separate VSTi tracks) so that each can at least have a chance to get whatever engines it uses on a different CPU core.

I don't know how well that would work, or even if it would. And of course it would likely not work for standalone which would probably rule out the possibility of using multicore (even faking it out) for live work.

Well, I have said buyer beware. But I could not in good conscience trash Maschine. I have it and I like it for what it does.

I expect it to get dropped too, maybe as soon as this weekend. But I would not want to encourage a premature death for Maschine. It's bad enough losing Kore support and continued development.

Rebuilding the Sound Engine or the Company ?

Well NI have a choice here...They can either work on restoring some level of goodwill with their user base by doing a total rebuild of the Kore x64 engine with full Multi Core support,or they try rebuilding their company from the ground up...

We will give them a little more time to decide - before we start really opening up on ALL of the forums and blogs out there...

We're only getting started here :)

I don't honestly think you are going to achieve anything with silly threats. Indeed you may well spoil any chance we have of getting some good out of this

    Reality Check:

    1) The reason Kore has been dropped is because it isn't making enough money for NI. This means that Kore isn't a popular product.

    2) If a product is good enough to attract buyers, those buyers couldn't care less whats gone before. Indeed, most buyers probably don't care what will happen with the product in the future. People buy a product for what it does for them at the time of purchase.

A Show of Hands for Maschine

:) Well - that could be Plan B...It's always good to have a BIG gun to back up the rhetoric and the diplomacy...

But we don't want NI to be building up their hopes to high with that Maschine groove box either...While they are busy knocking 'em out in the Chinese factory and then storing 'em in warehouses to get ready for the global demand - we might want to give them an indication of how many of us are eager to subscribe to their new box.

So let's have a show of hands of just who is going to take up their wonderful cross grade offer for Maschine..

It's multi choice. and very simple...YES = YES and NO = NO...

I'll get the ball rolling... NO :)

Please do not underestimate us....We want some support and I think that we all feel that we deserve it...This exercise has been very damaging for NI's trade mark value and their customer base...The most destructive decision in NI's history.

They have effectively caused the damage to themselves and we are just trying to show them a few ways that they can slowly restore a little customer belief..

Without that customer support, they could very well go down the toilet...fast

wow! Gibanez your racist remarks really do show how much more intelligent you are. You could discontinue maschine today and Im still happy with it. It still works far better than my ensonique mr61 that cost me 2500.00 lasted a good ten years now its obsolete did I go bitching to Ensonique to give me updates or let me upgrade my keyboard. Use what you have if it was good enough when you bought it then it should still be good if not then buy the new thing that does what you want it to., And If racial slurs are all you got I fail to see how you could make a company of any size do anything much less A company like Native Instruments

    Respect

I agree...This debate was always going to get very heated - but it is most important that respect and dignity is upheld at all times...We told Thomas that we would be on our "best behaviour" and so we should be...We want to get some positive action from NI regarding the support of Kore,so our focus should remain on that..

Now how about the x64 AND Multi Core support for Kore NI ! It's the very least you could do...

I'm going to pick up the phone and try and call Danny or his Mate in Berlin today and see what's up :)

My German's a little rusty but I'll be brushing up on particular words and phrases...ajw

It's not often I agree with something that could be regarded as an act of censorship but, in this case, well done. 'Debate' at that level helps no-one.

    Hi
Digital Boy i'm ok with you and think entirly your(our) request is legitim but
The best way to keep kore alive is using it and you know that!
A multinational company in this world is a big bulldozer
No wailing even reggae music can't stop that !
Kore is too advanced for the masse and too inacheved for performers with only kore host and it seems to be not a good business for NI tomorow comparated to maschine.
Yes we love kore.... multicore and 64bit host
I would add that only plus we can stand by NI is support of the kore hardware in maschine environnement
not by controlled editor but natively
NI wants to add more developement with 'this feature' ? Probably not at this time

I think this was the second comment of this type by that user. It was a good decision to suspend him/her.
