xone 1d w/ traktor pro where to start

I have been using traktor pro for about 2 weeks and this is my first experience mixing with a laptop. I just picked up a xone 1d to go along with my CDJ's and mixer. I have no idea what a .tsi file is or how to get started. It would be really helpful if someone/some people could walk me through this.

For now im only mixing on 2 decks A and B that are controlled by time code. I mainly want to use the xone 1d for looping and effects.

im in the same situation. im using MBP with TSP and 2x Xone1d's.
any help with midi mapping or how to daisy chain my 1d's together would be great

 

Ok for my physical setup:
Xone 1D #1 connects USB to some USB Power adapter.
Xone 1D #1 connects MIDI Out to Xone 1D #2 MIDI In
Xone 1D #2 connects USB to laptop. (This saves usage of a USB port on laptop if that's something you need.

As for layout. I have 1 1D setup where the base row of buttons (LED's) are select Deck Focus. The sliders select adjust tempo. The first two rows of buttons below the sliders are hotcues 1-8 of the selected Deck in focus. The 3rd row of buttons are modifiers along with main control knob (the one next to the jog wheel). My main control knob is assigned and used for Track scrolling and playlist scrolling. My jog wheel bottom button is for deck loading. There are a bunch of smaller functions I have assigned too, but that's the core.

Xone 1D #2 is used for 4 effect unit controls. Try messing around in the options menu and start making a layout for what you need. There are layouts out there, but likely you will start modifying/tailoring them to what you want.
