    Hi guys,

I own traktor scratch pro and i am really thinking abt getting a xone 2d.
I readed the built in sound card of the 2d goes nicely with traktor, sound is good and that its fully compatible and cerified for traktor.
The reason i want a 2d is portability, i have the need to control traktor with a good portable midi controller. Yeah i got the audio 8, but on my gigs i dont want to mess around with the cables and connections, just want it plug n play.
So, with the proper midi mappings, can one xone 2d act as a 2/4 ch mixer and at the same time control 2/4 decks? Like a normal dj set up(2 decks 1 mixer) ?

    Thanks in advance!

Ah! Forgot to mention, can i record mixes by using xone 2d with traktor pro? Possible to plug 2d's master out to the club mixer's in? Any disadvantage while using 2d with Tpro?

    Thanks!

I don't see the 2d in the list of Scratch certified products so I don't think it's scratch certified.

But you should be able to record.

Yeah, I have a 2D, two in fact, 'cause they're so damn awesome. The 2D has exactly the same soundcard as the 4D does, it's top quality, and delivers that great warm and full Xone sound. But I use TP. The 2D is not TSP certified.

I actually spoke to Ben at Allen&Heath about it. The fact that it is not TSP certified actually has nothing to do with the hardware itself, or the soundcard architecture. The 2D soundcard is perfectly capable of handling TSP confidently, and more. After all, it is the same soundcard as the 4D, which is certified.

It basically boils down to politics and licensing - and the fact that NI put an extra piece of coding in the beginning of the Audio2/4/8 firmware. Something, which for some reason, NI won't allow, or A&H don't want to on the 2D, can't remember which.

It's a shame really, because I feel it is sometimes a better solution than an ADJ. It fits perfectly next to a mixer with all the connections at the back, and it has the added control surface (with dual layer MIDI). Just my 2cents.

The 2D can do everything you asked in your post. I'm doing it at this very moment. I don't see any disadvantage, except for the non TSP certification.

    Disadvantages:
    - very few led feedback
    - crossfader too close to the headphone socket (what were they thinking)
    - faders a bit too smooth for tempo (be careful with your movements)
    - 'old generation' controller in a sense

What I really liked: an additional native second layer of controls and the sound.

Thank you for ur quick reply!
So the 2d is not tsp certified, does that mean i cannot control tsp with the 2d at all?
Or is it just that i cannot scratch?
    Thanks!

Also mention, that i dont use time coded cds or vinyls, the whole software tsp would be controlled from the 2d, pitch bend id like to assign it to the 2d's jog wheel

When you mentioned you want to use "two decks" i thought you meant turntables.
Of course you can control Traktor using your 2d and you can also use the soundcard in it.
You just won't be able to use it for timecode control, everythign else will work fine.

it not being TSP certified just means that you cant use timecode with it, its the soundcard within the controller, not the actual controls.
