Hey, I'm new :) I'm thinking of getting xone 92 and 2/3 k2s. I want to be able to control my xone 92 by using the faders and the Eq's and use the 2 k2s to jog with tracks and FX and loops use 3 or 4 channels on my mixer at the same time?

Somebody told me that if I want to use 4 deks at the same time I need 4 k2s? Is thst right?

So if I get xone 92 and 2 k2s I can use 4 decks on my mixer and use all the 4 band eq on 92 and use all 4 faders? While I can use the k2s too e.g track selection, sync, loop ect

    If I get 3 k2s in theory I can use 6 channels?

    Also if I get 1 k2 I can only use 2 channels,faders, e.q ect

K2 has a soundcard, so I just aggregate the 2 k2 to my MacBook so I can use 4 faders 4 eq on mixer

Thanks for you, hoping to hear from you :)

You need two K2s to have 4 decks of audio output to your 92. Each K2 has two stereo outputs.

You can aggregate your onboard audio with a single K2 and have three deck audio.

Given the current price of the 92, you may want to consider the 4D.. Same price (at least here in Germany) and you get a 10/10 Audio Interface, controller units, and Traktor Scratch capability with it...

Otherwise everything you say is correct. Keep in mind though that cabling is a bit messy with 2Ks going to 4 inputs of the mixer.. Each K2 has cinch coming out of the back and stereo headphone jack out the front.

I have gigs I don't really want to be lumbering a 4d about going to each venue.. Most of the booths here have done 92.. I just want to be able to bring my laptop and controller or controllers plug I them I'm away!

So all in all I just need xone 92 2 k2s to use the 4 faders on and all the Eq's for 4 individual channels on the xone?

2 k2s .. I'll be able to use channel A , b , c , d at the same time and all them channels can be playing different music.

    I don't understand that if I had 3 k2s I would be able to use 3 devks, why would u get 3 k2s if 2 k2s does the job?

Yes Sir. Although again, you need to bring as well 2x headphone-jack-to-cinch and 2x cinch-cinch cables. The problem here is that the two headphone-jacks are in the front of the K2. So you have cables coming out the front of your K2 going to the back of the 92. Not a deal-breaker, but it may be slightly annoying to have these cables in the way.

But it is possible, you use the OSX feature to combine the 2x2-stereo outputs of the K2s to create one 4xStereo audio interface. This one you select in Traktor and set it up in a way that decks A, B, C, D route to Channel 1, 2, 3, 4 of the 92. You use the cue feature of the 92 to cue your mix.. so no additional channel needed.

The reason to have 3x K2s (and I have rarely never seen that in real life) is to have one K2 per channel. This could be useful if you wish to use complex mappings and use all the K2 buttons, faders, knobs and encoders for ONE deck.. It's a bit cleaner (but needs more space etc. obviously). But again, I have never seen anyone use this really.. And if they do, they would probably use a Xone DB mixer or external AI for the audio interface (neglecting that of the K2).

by the way.. A&H made a video that explains EXACTLY what you want to do ;) ;)

Kal is it possible to use 1xk2 set for 3 channel in external mode? I read something on Internet that is possible with split jack and a audio soundcard
