    Hi,

I wanted to start a thread dedicated to this since this topic is a big topic of interest on other forums.. Reasons why NI should scratch certify the DB4 should be put in this thread. NI, please consider these and certify this mixer as it is well deserving of it.

    1. This mixer is built to work hand-in-hand with Traktor. Everything from midi control layout to midi clock sync works perfectly with Traktor.
    * In comparison, the djm900 has NO WAY of midi clock sync'ing accurately to Traktor yet its certified - the djm900 does not play nice with traktor at all

    2. There is a TON of interest and purchases of the db4 lately and the upcoming db2 means this product line is going to be around for the long run and have a steadily growing user base. This user base wants to stay on Traktor but alot of them need scratch certification.

    3. There is no way to use the mixers full capabilities even with an NI soundcard. I lose the input matrix flexibility if I go thru an Audio 6 soundcard.

    4. This mixer is getting alot more attention than the djm900 from local djs and famous djs. There is nothing but complaints on the djm900 and nothing but praise for the db4. NI should consider this as part of their certification evaluation. Which type of product do u want to be tied to?

    5. The soundcard on the DB4 is TOP NOTCH - it is probably the best ive used so far with Traktor.

    6. I hate to say this but the lack of scratch certification has led DB4 owners to have the perception of shady business practices which is not a good thing especially when it has to do with software thats supposed to be all about enjoying music. I for one hate to think about the bizness side of this but I cant help myself when I see some mixers getting undeserving certification + other better mixers not.

Please NI - consider ur user base and make all the DB4 owners happy and able to use ur Traktor product the way they want to. I am dying to get back on timecode so its really frustrating to see that a top-quality mixer like the DB4 doesnt get scratch certified yet a problematic mixer like the djm900 gets certified no problem.

I believe NI would benefit from seeing sales of scratch upgrades from DB4 users who just cannot buy + use scratch right now. Ud also see alot of exposure from famous DJs which is always good. And lastly, I know plenty of ppl are using the DB4 without traktor because they need to use their tts and cdjs. Upon scratch certification, that would be more licenses sold.

DB4 + DB2 current and future owners - add to the list and make some noise if u want scratch certification.

There is already a discussion thread about the DB4 but this thread is specific to "Certification" so i'll leave this up.

Please take note: This will not be allowed to become an online petition and any posts that "exert pressure" on NI or are simply not helping discussion will be deleted.

You can simply +1 or add your reason why Certification would be good for you and your use with Traktor.

    Yes, please!

The mixer is incredible and nothing else out there comes close to matching its tech. NI would make a lot of NI customers very happy if they scratch certified this thing and it is definitely frustrating having to plug in my audio 8 just if I want to use timecode at home.

Scratch certifying this thing will only help both companies and make customers happy.

NI should really consider this, i'm sure the sales of the DB4 will skyrocket. NI and A&H can only benefit from this.

Thanks Karlos - and to be clear - I had no intention of having this be an NI bashing / pressure thread. I am a huge supporter of Traktor as its put alot of fun back into DJ'ing for me. Traktor is a one-of-a-kind irreplaceable piece of my setup at this point and imo beats the competition by miles.

Best software + best mixer scratch certified would be a match made in heaven.

So I agree, keep this thread full of intelligent reasons and +1s..

Figured a seperate thread would be a little easier for NI to sort thru as opposed to the gigantic general DB4 thread (the size of the thread speaks volumes about the Traktor communitys interest).

Yeah, your all good bro, i know that. I just needed to put a general warning on the thread for others to follow your example.

See for me it's sort of like chicken and the egg.

NI have stated that due to the low numbers of people buying the unit in the next 24 months that it won't get Scratch certification.

There's no way I'm buying a $3500 dollar mixer without the certification first, same with the db2, I'm sure a lot of people feel the same way as I do.

It's the same with the Pioneer CDJ2000 I won't buy it until it has Advanced HID.

All these products are amazing but they sort of get there mojo cut in half without the added benefits of Traktor for me.

    That's my reason anyway +1

Yeah, and the CDJ-2000s don't have advanced HID yet? I have my eye on a pair and was looking to use them with Traktor thinking if they don't certify the mixer at least I'll have advanced HID on those, I would love to know if NI is working on it...

+1 for both certification and advanced HID. These are the two reasons that I don't yet own traktor.

+1 But I still believe that you may need to contact tech support instead of bumping this here on the forum. All the users who want this send support requests, i guess this way will be more effective

I don't have any traktors, but I would quickly spend money to get it if the DB4 was certified.

So count me in for certification!

Cool! Also another reason for certification: The DB4 is voted as club mixer of the year. The DJM900 not :p
