Xone:K2 with Mac Air (M1)

K2 is currently only supported on Intel-based Macs.
But I found this article today and was wondering what if..?

i manage to make it work but so far I need 2 one K2.

So I'll try to explain my Process. I borrow an OWC Thunderbolt 3 Dock. and it was working perfectly with it.

So I figure it was something with the power.

I have a Apogee Duet 2 with the midi output. I was hoping that this port might provide enough power but no

I try to put a usb2 powered hub before and it was not working.

I keep the K2 plug inside the powered hub. but unplug the hub from the Duet. so the K2 still power. I Link a second K2 with the RJ45 output port, so the second K2 is now powered up !

The scariest part was to Plug the seconde K2 inside the Midi port of The duet. I was scare to cause a shortage but no !!!

it was working !!!!
look like the K2 don't receive enough power from usb wire to booth up proberly so he need to be already powered before being plug.

After what I can unplug the usb Hub from the first K2 that is now the Linked K2 in the rig.

So I'll try to contact Allen & Heat to tell them how I manage this. don't know the power voltage of the RJ45 port.... is it something standard, POE 24 volt ?

There is an Firmware Update available at A&H … Check it out. Now my K2 is running with MBA M1

 

im having hard time to get firmware update. I am connecting the K2 directly to M1 mac proc and also via a external hub and both cases installer says “there was a problem during connection”. Not sure why..

 

Make the Firmware Update on a Intel Mac…This is also written in the Update discription. I did the Update on my friends Intel mac…K1 and K2 both now working with M1 .

I've just gone through the same process, updating new M1 MBA last night, K2 not recognised :-(, tried to update firmware from M1 Air (but of course it didn't work).
Used my old Macbook to update the firmware this morning and working now with M1 MBA.

Hey guys i have the same problem i have the Macbook Air M1 and the k2 is not been recognised from Traktor. i ve downloaded the
Xone:K2 V2.5.0 Operating Firmware but its not working. How did you fixed that? Can someone help me out?
