    Hi there,

sorry, if i post in the wrong forum, but I have a question concerning mapping of the xponent in traktor and i cant find any help using google.

I used the tsi by fonfonboy, which uses the two banks to switch between the 4 decks in traktor. I then assigned all the controls of deck C and D back to A and B, exept for the FX units, so that i now can control FX1 to 4, while having control over my two decks all the time.

Unfortunately, the LEDs do not 'realize' a swith from bank a to b, so that the LED of e.g. effect 1 of FX1 stays active when i switch the banks, even if it controls effect 1 of FX3 now. same with the pitchbend buttons, which fonfonboy assigned to active FX on deck a and B.

is there a way to make the xponent 'realize', that i have hit the bank switch and to assign the led properly? I know this worked in torq in the standardmapping, so it should be able to be programmed in traktor, i hope...

    thanks for any suggestions!

I don't know how the new MIDI mapping system is on 2.5.1, but when you set your modifier switch buttons (to switch which decks you're controlling) to "send monitor state" then it should reset your LEDs the way you want.

My question (I used to know this and I forgot) is which note / CC message controls the damn track progress LEDs on each side of the Xponent?

    Nevermind, found it. :)

    Direction: Output
    Control: Seek Position
    CH4 CC20
    Deck A

    Direction: Output
    Control: Seek Position
    CH4 CC21
    Deck B

    CC18 and CC19 (CH4) for Vu-meter

I don't think so. The map I made for Traktor 2.5 still works perfectly well (sans remix deck control of course) so for myself, I haven't felt a need to mess with it.

Is your mapping available for download somewhere?

Nah, but I don't know if you'd want it. It's BRICK stupid. Like two decks, hot cues, loops, FX, EQ, NOTHING else. I went back to basics on purpose.

    Bit of a noob question(s)?

    Hi there peeps,
Been enjoying reading this thread as i just bought a second hand xponent. Would have loved an S4 but the price on this was too good.
Anyway. A couple of questions which hopefully someone can help me with.

Firstly compatability of .tsi files with the program.
If you have an older version of traktor (mine is 2.1.2) does that mean that you can only use .tsi files that are created with that version? Or should the latest version work with all older .tsi fiiles?
I tried to upload a couple of different .tsi files from Traktor bible and all i succeeded in doing was stopping the xponent from working at all. Had to go back to thte traktor defaults to get the xponent working at all again. Annoying as it meant i lost all the little browser adjustements i'd made.

So should I upgrade to the latest version? I'm not that far advanced a dj so the issues with controlling 4 decks doesnt concern me. I mainly want something i can control the loops/eq/sampling and effects with.

Also is there a way to see what the settings on a .tsi file are? Or is it only in that tiny window in the preferences where you can see what controls what? One of the reasons i tried a few different maps from Traktor Bible was that some people had made a really clear pdf showing what controlled what.

I think thats all my questions for now. Hope you can help a noob.

    Cheers.

    Hey J,

    1. Did you set the inputs / outputs correctly after you loaded the TSI? If you don't do that, the Xponent won't work, no matter what map you use.

    2. Most maps are forwards compatible. I don't know about backwards compatible though. So a not-too-complicated map made on 2.0 will work on 2.5, most likely. But something made on 2.5 might not work on 2.0.

    3. You should upgrade to the latest version just because god, it's really neat. :) But no you don't have to. :)

    4. You can see the contents of the TSI via the controller manager and some third party apps (or so I hear). Yes, the CM sucks. Yes, NI knows. I'm hoping that an overhaul might happen at some point, but I'm not holding my breath.

Thanks a lot for the replies. I'm away from the computer but I bet it's the first thing that you said Punky921. I'm sure it's just going to be a case of setting the inputs and outputs. (Is there an emoji for face palm!)
    Will update as well.
Will let u know how it goes when I'm back.
    Cheers
