Yet again... Resonance for the Xone filter type

Only the Xone EQ Type does this for the Hi and Lo knobs, but not the two mid EQs. Having said this, there should also be an option to use the S4's (or another controller's) mid EQ knob for either the Mid-Hi or the Mid-Lo if someone wants to use the Xone 4 band EQ.

This and the Filter Resonance issue are fundamental and relatively easy fixes, and should be addressed.

 

I usually add to this thread after a new version release. Even though the filter was given some attention, still no Filter Resonance option for the mixer filter.

It would be nice if NI would address at least one reasonable feature request per release from this Feature Request Thread.

Come on NI! This is getting old!

 

Please NI, this is more important than ever now with the remix decks given that the filter is the only way to change the tone of individual samples. Also the F1 has 4 dedicated filter knobs which are almost useless because of how extreme the filter settings are.

The xone filter has such a high db/octave cure (24db filter with no Q?) that for high frequency loops like hi hats turning the knob from 12 o'clock to 11.30 (2-3mm turn) cuts the sound out completely. The ladder filter sounds like a 12db super high Q and is so harsh and piercing its useable but at least the filter knob has a lot of range when using it.

No extra features really need to be added to fix this. We don't need Q control just 2-3 more preset filter modes that are in between the extreme Q to no Q we have now. For example: ladder filter high Q Ladder mid Q ladder low Q and the same for xone.

Hope this makes sense and please please fix it.

Yeah, this is getting old. We're approaching 4 years for this simple request.

It's a few lines of code to add resonance control. The filter is by far the most used effect.

One of the massive plus points about A&H mixers is the lovely lovely filters - warm and lush.

How is it that NI are already adding new fliter types "Z Filter" without fixing the Xone?

I've people want something without resonance then use a different filter type?
