maybe we should start some kind of official lettering to somehow yield success in continuation of Kore? I never thought a "minor" .x update of an OS could break compatibility. Well, it doesn't for me, thankfully, but considering the future... At least some kind of at least maintain compatibility to OS updates? What do you all say? I can not imagine not to use Kore, can you?
I will have all operating systems necessary around - as long as possible - to keep working with Kore. Even if someone releases something to replace it I'll still want my preset library. On Everymac.com you can check the oldest and latest OS your Mac can use. You can install any or all of those on internal or external drives and boot from them. You can also run a standalone Mac Mini or other desktop, operate it via screen share, send midi to it and return audio from it via LAN using VEP. It even works with old systems, I can control my G5 with my Hackintosh Can't install VEP on a G5 though.
Hmm, except it's not really Apple's fault. The Kore (and Komplete 7) installers read "10.10" as "10.1", so it's really down to NI to sort it. Sadly, they've already told me I'm out of luck with a fix for Kore, and I'm doubtful they'll do anything other than expect me to upgrade to Komplete 10, which is frustrating (but that's how software works, I guess). All my other plugins work, no problem. The developers either took advantage of the long Yosemite beta period or, in most cases, had already made something that didn't get confused by OS version numbers. I'm no Apple fanboy, by the way. I happen to find Yosemite ugly and - for my needs - pointless, and so will have to remain on Mavericks.
