Not working here. It hangs on start... beachball forever. Tested standalone and in Cubase 7.5. No success. Repaired permissions. Still not working. Some ideas?
No luck opening in stand alone, or in ableton live 9. Seriously bummed if this is the end of the line..
Crap - I saw something similar on the Maschine forum that said if you install fresh it worked but not if you install over an old installation - not sure how you would do that though.
I simply ran the Yosemite update over my Mavericks and both maschine2 and kore2 (and up to now everything else) works as before... What have you all done other than me?
Maybe they have Kore 1? Can people specify please, makes it easier to keep track. I will be very annoyed if I have to stay with Mavericks as I have several iOS devices. On the other hand if this does just come down to Kore 1 vs 2 then I am open to buying a K2 controller as I plan to get a new audio interface soon anyway, my K1 has served me very well over the years.
Or just bootcamp Windows 7 on your Mac because "on this other side" random things don't magically stop working every 6-12 months, however Apple decides everybody else should play fetch.
and you can always run Mavericks in a parallels VM within Yosemite and stream audio between the machines with Jackaudio, MIDI with OS X network midi, or simply use Vienna Ensemble Pro 5, and/or Coppplerlan etc. I run a Win VM on OS X this way having both worlds available simultaneously.
But it doesn't seem to be necessary at all, as everything works as with Mavericks, with me at least...
Kore 2 working fine here after upgrading to Yosemite, I did have some issues with a couple of older third party plug ins crashing the application on startup, but once I removed the ones causing the problems it works fine.
Kore2 not working on Yosemite.. Opened in stand alone, I get "application not responding" and have to force quit.. If I open as a track plug in on Ableton, it crashes Ableton.. Spiral Sequence.. where/how did you locate the old 3rd party plug ins affecting Kore? Is there something in the Kore folder structure? Thanks!
It was fairly easy in my case as it was listing the errors when it was scanning plug ins on start up. I deleted a couple of old demos that had expired that were causing problems - Clariphonic, Maul and Bloom. Because they weren't authorised it made Kore 2 hang when scanning. I just went in to the HD>Library>Audio>Plug-Ins folder and cleaned up my AU plug ins in the Components folder and also the VSTs. When it finished scanning and loaded successfully I then set the preferences to ignore VSTs as most of them were just doubling up Audio Unit plug ins. So have a look and maybe check to see if you have any old demos for a start? You can also disable plug in scanning on start up, but of course it won't add new plug ins from that point on if you do that. Hope that helps!
OK so it sounds like some of the issues may be plugin related, not directly Kore. Are you all using Kore with the hardware? - that's my biggest concern, we are not going to see any new drivers for Kore so if they no longer work that's a problem.
Just a point but on Mac I find Kore tends to work better with VST than AU plugins generally - tends to be more support for preset import in the VST versions too. Malfunctioning VSTs are also easier to exclude as on Mac AUs are system level plugins, there is only one folder and plugins can't be moved into different folders, or even subfolders, but VSTs can be.
Oh well I managed to pick one up on eBay for £20 - thought it was about time anyway as it's also insurance for when my Kore 1 fails. Just trying it now - it seems to be working even though I haven't installed Kore 2 drivers which is surprising - actually I might use this and put the K1 out to pasture - the screen is much clearer than with the K1 and it takes up less desk space. The plastic parts have a nicer slightly matte surface that doesn't pick up fingermarks as easily and feels more tactile, the only thing I don't like is they replaced the 2 buttons with useful descriptive names - view/menu with F1/F2. Why?
So Kore2 is working? What happens if you start the software without the controller? I cannot start the Kore Software (2.1.4) with or without Kore1 Controller...
Not sure - doesn't seem to be just that - I still think there may be a difference between clean installs and updates as that is also affecting Maschine users.
Whats strange is that If I try to open Kore2 stand alone.. it just says "application not responding" if I don't force quit, and leave it alone.. for HOURS, it may pop up, but the Kore standalone seems to be frozen.. can't click on anything, and have to force quit that..
