Kore starts up faster if you disable plugin scanning at start up and you can use Kore if a plugin gives trouble. I manually make it scan for new plugins when I want to add them to Kore.
Anyone had any joy with Kore 1 hardware yet? It appears that there has been 'some' success with K2. I have K2 running fine with K1 hardware under Mountain Lion, but reluctant to shift to Yosemite as it's my only audio interface ATM.
It sounds like Maschine users are having similar problems so I guess we need to wait for more info from NI. The problem is they aren't likely to be planning to update Kore 2 afaik but one possibility is that the problem is with the NI Hardware service itself - in which case that probably would get updated which may also benefit us Kore users.
Looks like I was close to the mark - the problem isn't the software but the hardware service - specifically some conflicts with AVID drivers:
Is this fix any good to Kore users having problems? http://www.native-instruments.com/forum/threads/maschine-fixed-in-yosemite.228762/#post-1324469
My problem was the AVID/ Digicore extensions in my system library as described in the official NI thread on the subject. Problem solved.. Thanks Kymeia and everyone in the thread that posted, appreciate your assist!
Yes me too - in no rush although the integration with my iPhone looks useful. I am also waiting to see if it is compatible with several other things including my Nord G2 Modular and Metasynth.
I don`t understand: If you delete the avid coreaudio.plugin you will loose your Digidesign/Avid audio interface. So for me this is all but a fix.
Yes I suppose calling it a 'fix' is just from the standpoint of getting NI hardware working, it's not really a fix overall - but nonetheless I think it is welcome news in that it shows that there is a resolvable conflict that we can only hope NI and AVID will work together to properly fix, rather than it being an inevitable consequence of Yosemite itself, in which case we probably wouldn't have much hope of being fixed, at least not for Kore.
Did they say they no longer update the drivers for the Kore hardware? They did an update for Mavericks october 2013...
my experience, on a mac, was mixed but so far mostly positive. i was UNABLE to use the KORE 2 installer no matter what i tried so i copied every program file over from my old machine to my new machine making sure to place everything in the proper folders and voila.... i stopped using my KORE 1 controller many years ago, but i rely heavily on the software. this will ONLY work for mac due to the nature of the OS, and i have not tested on any newer version of windows. aside from the tricky part of getting all the plugins registered it seems to be working so far. YAY, one more OS upgrade survived. PLEASE BRING BACK KORE!!!!!
Hi, There, For those who try to install Kore 2 on a new Yosemite machine (or like me after a clean install), the installer won't work. It will say "Installation cannot proceed ... blah ... blah ... this product requires at least OSX 10.4" Yes Yosemite is 10.10 but it seems they didn't plan to go over 9 in the installer script Fortunately you can fix it: - Copy the Kore 2 Installer Mac.mpkg from the ISO to any directory on your mac, so that you can modify it. - On the mpkg right click > Show package content - Edit the Contents/distribution.dist file with any text editor and remove the lines 8 to 11 in the pm_install_check() function (this is where the version is checked as the name says) You should have something like this function pm_install_check() { return true; } If you don't feel like editing the file, here is the modified file (attached), simply replace the one in the mpkg by this one. Then double-click the fixed mpkg and the installer should run fine. You can then run the 2.1.4 update which won't require any kind of fix. Here on a fresh Yosemite install on my 2013 iMac, Kore 2.1.4 + Kore 2 controller work as expected. Hope it helps, Laurent
Hi I came across this in search of why I can't install Komplete Elements 7 on OSX 10.10. I was wondering if you could help me use the same method to install it, when I try to install a similar message pops up ("needs to be OSX 10.5 or higher)
