Wait a minute...is someone here trying to tell me that if you have Kore inserted as a plugin in Maschine, and you are in record mode, and you twirl the knobs and morph Kore with the mouse, that the automation won't be recorded by maschine? I recall doing just that awhile back and whether I used the maschine knobs or the Kore knobs the automation was picked up in Maschine. But I could be wrong. My point is: why would I need Sonar to record the automation or morphs of Kore when Maschine is?

I don't know what Maschine itself records or does not record. In my studio Maschine is just another tool...and unlike NI's marketing strategies will never be "the center of your production."

I believe (do correct me if I'm wrong) automation recorded in Maschine is very limited as opposed to Kore automation. My DAW Cubase will pick up anything Kore sends it. I don't believe that is the case with Maschine.

I don't know anything about Sonar automation and how it's graphically laid out. In Cubase, yes, once the initial automation is recorded, I much rather edit automation in Cubase. There are huge advantages for me doing this in Cubase.

I heard that you can't record automation in a DAW for plugins that are running in Maschine. Like greggybud that would be the way I prefer it.

They sent me the wrong size shirt (Small instead of Medium). I emailed them about it and haven't heard back in over two weeks! Awesome NI, you're doing an awesome job. Keep it up.

I can confirm that Maschine is very crippled in sending it's automation CC data to a DAW. You need to map the parameters you want to one of Maschine's 8 macros per group (no multi-mapping allowed). Only these 8 lots of 8 macros can be seen by the DAW (external to Maschine).

This reason, almost exclusively, is why I sold my Maschine.

ah, so you can record some automation. Just CC or also host automation?

I used Live with my Maschine but, so far as I can tell, it's JUST CC data which is applied via the Macro knobs.
Each group has 8 macros - regardless of how many of the 16 'sounds' are used per-group.

I was pretty frustrated that you couldn't macro control a group's volume or apply a 'knob of doom' even inside of Maschine.

AFAIK, Maschine doesn't support 'standard' CC beyond the 8 groups of 8 macros meaning that third-party control is almost a total no-no in current versions.

They're sending me the correct shirt now. It took a while but I think they're beginning to see that a happy customer is a purchasing customer. I hope that knowledge carries them toward updating Kore at least until it's 100% bug free.

I dont get this. I never saw this email. I own Komplete 6 and Kore 2 - and bought my first NI product (Reaktor) back in 2005 - but I guess that's not enough to be regarded as a loyal customer?

That said, I can still get all worked up when thinking about the potential NI have thrown on the floor when they discontinued Kore. They obviously didn't fully realize how successful Kore was in becoming THE go-to sound managing system. I still dont understand why they wouldn't just dump the internal engines and continue to develop Kore as what it did best - a sound managing system!

Enough ranting. Still waiting for support on the freezing installer for Kore 2.1.4.

Sorry to say this, but they're aren't going to be any more updates. NI have been emphatic about this. Kore will never be bug-free. :|

Sorry to say this as well, but NO software is ever 100% bug free.

    Yes, you're right.

And as we all know, this is exactly why ongoing development of a software product is so important. :(
