    Rly?
Allright, then I also play Electro House, even thou I can't hear any parts of House :D :D :D

The S8 seems to divide the Traktor Users. A friend (Timecode-User, plays HipHop&Rap) and another friend (S4, but used to work with CDJs) also diddnt like the S8, but both of them thought I would love it :)
Well, the S8 IS the next gen, and it is for Guys like us, right ? :)

In my opinion Electro house was a progression from late 90's hard house, if you do a search on youtube for Tinrib records you will see there's definitely a flavour of early house in there, but also big synth leads and hard drums like Electro house.......

Not all house is handbag ;)

Can't believe I used to play that stuff lol.....

Also with that Hellcat tune, you can hear early Acid in there, check the riff out at 2:30 and compare on youtube it to T99 - Anasthasia from 1991 :)

well, the riff maybe the only thing in common, eh? :D
nah, everything is coming back, and Must Die knows what he's doing. Personally I'd rave so hard on Hellcat, I'd think it's the 90s :D

anyway, we're getting pretty off topic and should get another thread for that kind memories and comparing genre :)

so i did my little detective work and the S8 seems to be slightly longer than my turntable case. which means it is not too big of a stretch to put between my stanton str8150's. so that right there is my setup.... i still consider myself a mostly hip hop dj but i play everything. the unit work well for me because of the innovations you can add. freeze mode, cue point juggling, tone play. a lot of my fellow djs in the area are turning their nose up at it as a button pushing toy however i see more gains than losses with this unit. i mean most hiphop dj's are using dicers anyways

it's good to see, not every HipHop DJ is treating the S8 as a Toy :D
imo the S8 is a awesome solution if you are working with vinyl. Get it, make an incredible routine, tape it, up it to youtube, and hater's gonna get soft :D
even thou the Slicerfunction got a little bit late, and implemented by others than NI...
    Time for a 2.7 or 3.0 release.

I will sync mine up with either Maschine or my Ipad running Nord Beat and Nord Drum 1 for some basic beats and live drum
with Nord Drum 2, Roland Octapad spd-30, play my Roland Jupiter -80 and sing over the top with an AKG C520 headset condensor.

i can sing either direct into S8 or go into my Drawmer 1969 ME tube pre or Rolands Vocal performer, Roland Aira VE-3 or TC Helicon Voice Live Rack.

I play mostly electronic music including EDM, Pop, Swedish House and even Urban/Hip Hop.

Once out of the S8 I can go into the Drawmer 1973 stereo FET comp and use the parallel compression to sound huge.

I am almost 60 and the world is mine.

I'm going get me some fine b#$%%ches.

    Cheers

My current setup is centered around the XONE: DB4 mixer, so my perfect Traktor S8(ish) setup would require that NI makes a version that is minus the mixer.... just the sides to flank my DB4.
