I cant start Akoustik piano until the problem is solved
it is also stopping me from using logic.

everything else seems to be finally working apart from AK piano, which was working fine, but now I suddenly get this:

Your system ID has changed or is invalid bla bla bla....

    Hi,

Really sorry about this but I can't find a way of putting this without sounding like a jerk, but, which part of UPDATE REQUIRES ACTIVATION! did you not understand?

All the latest updates for all NI products have changed their authorisation method and require re authorizing.

As BobTheDog run the Service Center and authorize your AP.

Sorry for sounding like a jerk,

    Paul.

    Hi all,

did you run Service Center after installing the 1.1.1 update?

if on Intel Mac, did you buy a new serial number from our online shop?

    best,
    Markus

I too, am experiencing this exact problem. Service Center thinks AP is registered/activated. I bought Komplete 4, so no new serial number should be required.

I have entered a support call on this, but if the forum is a faster solution then that would be great... <start holding breath here>.... ;)

    Hi all,

let me check if this is a generic issue with the activation server. most likely, though it is a specific case on your machines, i.e. you will have to put in a registration request.

    best,
    Markus

Same problem here on my Mac Intel Mac Book Pro. Problem appears generic. Please advise your service department.

this specific error message should only be part of an older version of AP, but not of the latest version. Please make sure that the AP version you try to launch is 1.1.1 and not 1.1.0 or earlier. E.g. on PC it can happen very easily to start an outdated version by mistake when you use a VST host and copy the VST plugin to any Vstplugins folder after the installation. You can check a particular version by opening the file properties of an executable or a plugin file:

On Mac select the file and press Apple + I.

On PC select the file and press Alt + Enter.

    Hello Peter,

I have checked your authorization account, and I can see that the correct key has been generated for your AP version 1.1.1. However, this key would not be accepted by earlier versions of AP.

    Hello,

we rarely had the case (on Mac) where a user started his sequencer under Rosetta mode, which is not recommended. Rosetta was used either because the sequencer was not a UB, or it was a universal binary, but in the finder info of the sequencer application file they had checked "use in Rosetta mode". As a result of Rosetta, the system ID will not be valid.

    Hello,
    (last one for now)

if you would find the following behaviour on your Mac:

    1. you perform the authorization, authorization is successful
    2. you close Service Center
    3. you start Service Center again, product is shown as "not authorized"

you may have incorrect access permissions for the local plist file of the product.

How to fix access permissions of the preferences-file (".plist"-file)

    1. Quitt Service Center if it is running.

    2. To change the permissions of the preference (plist) file, locate it in the Finder:

The plist file can be found under the following location:

    root(the OS X volume upmost level)/library/preferences

The plist file has the following name:
    com.native-instruments.[product name].plist
for Kontakt 2 it is just
    Kontakt 2.plist

    4. Select the file and press apple-I to get info.

    5. Expand the triangle where you see ownership and permissions.

    6. Expand the triangle where you see the Details.

    7. Click on the lock symbol to open it, so you can make changes

    8. Set "Owner" to <your username>, set permissions of the owner to read and write. Your admin password will be requested for this action.

    9. Set "Group" to "admin", set permissions of group to read and write.

    10. Set others to read.

    11. Click on the lock symbol to close the lock again. Close the info window.

    12. Start Service Center and perform the authorization. After authorization is complete, quitt Service Center.

    13. Next start the standalone version of the product, which should come up in authorized mode now.

    Hello,

another one for Mac-users of the AP 1.1.1. update....

after SC has successfully authorized AP, restart SC, go to main menu->product overview->product details

search for Akoustik Piano, open the details (click on the +)

if you find the system ID and key only consists of numbers (no letters) proceed as followes:

run the AP 1.1.1 update installer in custom mode (instead of Easy) and only check "Basic installation", run the installation.

Start SC, perform the authorization. AFter this, AP 1.1.1 should start in authorized mode.

This implies that AP has been installed correctly before in all the following steps and in the correct order:

    1. AP installer from the original installation disc, this may be the AP installer disc or the Komplete 4 installer disc

    2. after this the AP 1.1.1 update has been performed in "Easy" mode

BTW if you performed the authorization, but afterwards in main menu->product overview->product details you would find the key field empty, please refer to my earlier post regarding access permissions.

I've finally gotten it to work. Had to reload from the Komplete 4 disk and update to 1.1.1. I hope it sticks. (MacBook Pro 1.83 Ghz.)

Still, when I did the reinstall from the Komplete 4 disk, it did not install the Impluse or Demo files in the Akoustic Pianos Folder. Had to grab those files from my other set up. (Strange.)

My wife is getting worried since I stayed up a good portion of last night with my head buried in my laptop and not at the keyboards. After all, I am a musician. She was getting worried that I was turning geeky...

    Best,

    Peter.
