Z1 loses contact with Traktor mid-set

This happened to me over the weekend in the middle of my set. I've been using the Z1 with Traktor for over 2 years and this has never happened before. What was so confusing is the Z1 still had its lights on and flashing, but all the knobs and faders stopped controlling anything in Traktor. I didn't realize what was going on until I had already let a track play to dead silence. It was a nightmare. I've been using the latest firmware version for a long time now, but the only thing I updated before this set was the driver version to the latest one. I can't think of what else could have caused this? Anyone? Can I roll back the driver version to see if that fixes anything? I cannot afford to have this ever happen again. When you update, you expect things to get better, but now I'm completely paranoid. Thanks all.
