+1! My left channel's Phono input has stopped working and I'm going through a phono preamp to line box right now for my Technics 1200s....

DHL should offer insurance on shipments. Open a claim not now, but right now.

For the record I've taken apart my Z2 to replace some of the buttons that stopped working over hundreds of thousands of presses. It was pretty difficult to do. I imagine replacing the pots won't be as difficult but it won't be easy either. You will have to find the parts online and they will have be near identical.

There is always a chance that the impact damage to the pots lifted the traces off the PCB as well but, more than likely they just cracked the solder joints that will just need to be reheated to make proper contact.

Cracked or cold solder joints could also be the problem with the phono input with @mfshva Z2.

What a cracked solder joint looks like.

See what NI can do for you since taking apart a Z2 yourself should be your last resort.

many thanks Irv for your Report, i use it now without the output and mic/aux Volume Knob , it looks complex to disassamble

My Z2 is technical 100% OK the broken knobs are missing but the 2 Knobs are working when i press with my finger on it and turn
When the Booth Out is 100% identical to the Master from Quality and Signal i can use this and loose only the mic/aux Knob

It will need new pots soldered in. There are a lot of screws to take off the unit to get to the pots. You might be better off not messing with it if you can make due the way it is.

Hey Irv, I need to disassemble my Z2 because of a faulty phono input channel. I got most of the knobs, faders, and screws out but I am stuck at the actual disassembly. Can you help me out? What did you do, to get 'inside' the unit?

    Thanks! <3
