Z2 in 2020 - still a solid choice? (Setup help)

    Dear NI-community,

I seek your help and advice. I have some cash, and I am willing to spend it on extending my DJ gear. As of now, I have a Z1, X1, F1. I am pretty happy with the setup; however, I occasionally lack an input (Phono, Line-in), and now I am looking for a useful upgrade.

This could be either switch to S4 (expensive, as well it obsoletes the X1, F1) - or move to the Z2. This would give me the inputs. It doubles some of the X1 features (maybe they can be remapped to something useful, to complement the Z2 controls).

What I like about the Z2 is the dual possibility of using it as a pure mixer as well as a Traktor controller.

    So here go the questions:
    • Is the Z2 still a solid choice in 2020? (Or should I go with a different mixer)
    • How do the Z2, X1 users map the X1, do they live with the duplicate controls? (such as cue points)
    • Do you consider the Catalina problems fixed with the Z2?

Thanks for your valuable feedback! And if you think, screw that - go S4 and never look back - I am also open for crazy opinions. So does a Z2 user ever look to the S4?

    Thanks
    /rh

    - Catalina Problems are fixed with 10.15.4
    - I use an Z2 with an X1 , have remapped something on the X1 (Mixer FX) for example and Play/Sync for Deck C/D I use as Remix Decks
    - for around 500Euro there is in 2020 no good Alternative I think , Z2 is a good buy now after fixed Catalina Problems

z2 is a great product for the price but if I was in your position I would purchase used for a fair price as the product is ageing... nothing is worse then buying new and a mk2 (if it ever happens) or better option in your price range pops up for sale. plus the $100 or $200 you save can go into some updated cables or headphones etc.
