Hello, I was hoping someone with more knowledge than me could answer a question. I have a Z2 on the way as I type. Is there a way to run Maschine through the mixer/sound-card eliminating the need for an additional sound-card. Also can this be done on a single windows computer?

If so does some kind soul mind explaining how this can be done?

    Thanks!

It's actually really easy, just select the Z2 as your audio interface in Maschine and all the inputs and outputs should be automatically mapped. I have been running Traktor and Maschine together at the same time (along with my DAW "Reaper" for recording) all using the Z2 interface with no problems...

Hey Rob, Is it possible to remix Maschine audio tracks thru the Traktor Z2? For instance, if I wanted to record a live scratch performance into Maschine, then take the finished Maschine project and remix it with effects using the Z2, is this possible?

I'm very close to purchasing the Traktor Kontrol Z2, I just want to verify that its compatible with Maschine and can be used as a input-output interface for recording and playback with the Maschine software.

Just be careful with this. Since you said you want to record "Scratch Performances," if you use the method described on that page, you'll have no timecode control, due to using SoundFlower as your interface and not the Z2 itself, something that's annoyed me for a while. IMO, if the Z2 is plugged in, you should be able to use timecode, but that's not how it's written, you have to use it as the interface, even if you actually are through soundflower, it doesn't work..

Now this mainly becomes an issue if you're trying to do this live. You can record into Maschine using the Z2, then go back afterwards and use it like you want without any fancy routing, but it's basically impossible live. I've been trying to do it for a while.

if you route Maschine to a live input on one of traktors decks you should be able to apply effects and mix it
