    Hi all,

I picked up a brand new Z2 yesterday, and a pair of second hand 1200's the day before that. I am completely new to both DVS, and turntables (come from a CDJ background, and a short-lived, abusive relationship with an APC 40).

    Traktor (2.6.1) detects the Z2.

I have downloaded and installed the update: TRAKTOR SCRATCH PRO 2 MK2 for TKZ2, although the Personal Update Manager doesn't seem to think so (bug? - is there any way to check that this has installed correctly?)

    Switch is set to Phono.

Decks are set to Scratch control.

BUT Traktor doesn't detect my turntables. When I try to calibrate, it just hangs on 'Waiting...' forever.

    Inputs look like:

    Outputs look like this:

    WHAT AM I WAITING FOR:

    I'm Using Windows 7, i7, 64bit.

Am I doing it wrong? Is there any way to check if I've connected everything correctly? Issues with hardware? Software? User? HALP!

How have you connected the mixer to the turntables mate? You need to connect them via phono and NOT line input like the audio6 etc.. Make sure you connect ground leads also. Have you tried playing normal vinyl through the mixer? You dont even need traktor on for this, just make sure you get a sound from it. Once you have done this, it is just a process of setting it up in traktor itself. Double check you have all the drivers installed too, I had to install mine twice for the manual to show up in traktor too. There is a simple set up to follow once you have connected it. This can be found via a simple search online.

Thanks for the reply mate. Turntables are connected via phono and grounded. I don't have any vinyl on hand to test, but they were playing normal vinyl at the seller's house when I purchased (albeit not through a mixer, though I don't think this would make a difference?).

I assume drivers are installed correctly, as faders and knobs respond in Traktor if I switch to Mixer layout.

Any other ideas? :( Tearing me up having all this gear and not being able to use it.

Looks like no signal is reaching Traktor at all. Have you switched the Z2 to Traktor Mode for each deck?

Yep, same issue, didn't want to hijack the thread.

The button next to Phono/Line Switch? Yep. No scopes whatsoever.

A post got lost somewhere along the way here, but until now I've been unable to get ANY sound out of Traktor and the Z2, even with the turntables disconnected and dropping/dragging sounds with the mouse. Presumably something wasn't set up correctly...

    But then:

    WOAH.

I disconnected my turntables. And cued up some sounds using my laptop. And SOUND came out, and waveforms moved. My god, it was beautiful.

About 8 seconds later I turned the headphone volume up on the Z2, and the sound inexplicably cut out, and I am yet to catch a glimpse of the elusive sound again.

    Any clues?

If you're getting sound output issues unrelated to timecode it's more like a hardware/driver problem.

And if turning up headphone volume kills your outputs I'm guessing hardware problems..

Solved this a couple days ago:

    USE USB 2.0, NOT 3.0.

Not sure if it specifies this in the setup guides. Felt like a tool when I worked it out.

After some limited use ('Waiting... Right ch. missing' when calibrating 1 deck- rcas to blame?) I can say the mixers performs decently. There are a couple of weird things happening that I hope get fixed, namely level LEDS on channel A randomly cutting out, and I could swear the crossfader reverse has enabled itself a couple times o_O
