Z2 with z1 ipod cable

Is this possible? Can we buy separately for z2? Why is no one asking this? Please dont move this thread as the z2 thread has been no help.

This would be perfect, I would be moving to the z1, but can't as its missing 1 vital option for a mobile DJ, a mic input.

The Z2 has this so would be perfect for me as could also use a backup external CD player etc with the RCA input.

Please tell me this works

I doubt that the cable will work with the Z2. The specific powering functionality will be inside the Z1 and only transfered by the cable.

I should point out that this is just my hunch. I don't have much info on the Z1 yet.

Would be interesting to see if it's technically possible with the Z2 to have some more advanced support, including control, if not over MIDI, over NIs proprietary protocol.

Charging would be nice too, if not with the same cable used for the Z1, maybe with another cable then.

I actually have the Z2 and tried it with my iPad through the Camera Connection Kit. I notice the audio part does work with two stero channels available but it uses internal mixing so the faders and EQs are useless at this point with an iOS device connected to it.

The fact is that the Z2 would be a nice Pro mixer for an iPad, especially if future versions of Traktor DJ add Sample Decks support.

Off topic: The last part of the puzzle that remains is the some great Decks by NI that would connect to the whole setup . Maybe something called D1 ?
