    Hi,

I've been trying to recreate Zakk Wylde's overdrive tone, as I have an EPI with EMG-ZW pickups, but I cannot get a close match. Can anyone help?

    Thanks,

    Marius

Another tough sound to get and I couldn't get close with one amp. One of his most used effects is chorus and that is early in the signal chain. I think that I got pretty close with these settings, of course you will have to tweak a bit for your setup.

I went with a shelving EQ with a gradual rise from bass to treble (this you would adjust to your guitar). Next would be a V846 wah then the ensemble in chorus mode (volume about 1 o'clock, chorus a little past 9 o'clock, vibrato and rate at noon. Send that into a splitter.

First amp is a gratifier and stock cabinet. Master is about 1 o'clock, gain maxed (I have mine sync'd with a pedal to go from 8 o'clock to max), bass at 1 o'clock, mid at 11 o'clock, treble at 2 o'clock, presence at 11 oclock.

Splitter B has a Lead 800 set at distorted and a gratifier cabinet. Preamp on this one is also linked to the pedal modifier from about 8 o'clock to max.

Split Mix is set for stereo input L/R spli and both A and B pans hard left and right. Output of this goes to a noise gate because it can get pretty unruly and then into a stereo reverb set at 'kent's reverb'.

How about posting the preset or maybe even just a printscreen of this setup. Some of us don't understand English very well so it's hard to actually recreate your rig.
