Any one can pound out a beat, and just because the samples are recorded well it does not guarantee that the final product will be interesting or even sound like someone who has experience playing and writing music. I suggest that you start using quantize and also sound libraries that are already set to sound cohesive together.

Meh, its got some grime to it but again its just a big beat loop that lacks any musical personality.

No need to get so defensive bro....you can't expect everyone to love your music. I give honest feedback based on my ears , and if you don't like it, well then why post your music here ? As for tips....in my humble opinion, I suggest you try breaking your beats out of the stretched 16-bar loop beat style into more of a song that has melodic transitions, breakdowns, drum variations, more defined intro/outro.... I mean you have good beat ideas, but i wouldn't call this a song....if its just a beat you were going for, then please ignore me.

Their ways are they have been playing and recording a long time and have a very good sense of rhythm. Something you lack, and that would help you work with others that might be able to excel your music. But I was young once and arrogant enough to turn down a record contract with A&M records in the 80's. Everyone can be there worst enemy. Don't ask for criticism if you don't want it. It is not about you, it is about the music.

I don't know you and would not assume that you are trying to be mean by expressing your opinion, even if I don't agree with it. As far as Hip Hop goes, I lived in South Central in the 80's in the days of sugar hill and the like, we made the very first hip hop along with some others that were already trying it in Compton. Mike Siefert, a friend of mine who owns a studio here in my home town and helped me record my first Prog CD wrote and played and produced all the stuff from a band called Bone Thugs N' Harmony. So yes, I don't listen to much Hip Hop of today because it's getting pretty much cookie cutter crap. But I did help to launch many Hip Hoppers in the 80's, and came from a classical background, moved into Rock then Hip Hop, then Prog and Country, then jazz and fusion. I have a good ear and only offer my opinion which as an artist, you should appreciate because you should always be trying to reach people in diversity. Any of the great producers I admire have worked in many genres and realized them all, that is what music production is all about, isn't it?

Ahh, just because someone is able to purchase and sell their fame does not mean they are great musicians, producers or anything else. In L.A., it's all about who you know and how much you are willing to give to get fame. But fame does not equal talent. Took me a very long time to learn that lesson. Just like you can farm out music likes on facebook and other media platforms does not mean that it is liked or even listened to by all the people that liked it, their like was paid for. Another thing I've learned is that it's not good to idolize anyone, especially someone who is popular or you are told they are popular. You cannot develop your own character if you idolize, you will always be comparing your artistic work to someone elses and it will never measure up and even if it does, that's what juke boxes are for.
