if you're anything like me, compression is something you'll do wrong for a long time but then one day it's going to click and become your very best friend!

hey rick, IMO snapshots are something to be avoided with compressors, particularly multiband ones. watch this video, it'll teach you more about compression than any preset i could make for you, and check out that first tip! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZUlIF97wsjs

We want snapshots! We want snapshots! ;-) I'd make 'em myself, but I'm kind of an idiot when it comes to compression, like someone for whom a $200 bottle of red wine tastes no better than a $5 one (Yellow Tail).

Thanks Salamanderanagram.

it's not a multi band version so it's both simpler and easier on the CPU, yup! same compression algorithm.

Sounds like it's worth a try! Why use the original version ... is it simpler, less CPU load?

i mean, isn't a limiter just a compressor with a high threshold (typically only a few dB beneath unity) and infinite (or near-infinite) ratio? in that sense, you could just toss the original version of pressure (check my uploads) after this one, and give it a high threshold and infinite ratio.

sala, does this have a limiter built in? Something that would smooth out-of-range peaks instead of clipping them? If not, would it be hard to build one in? With good compression *and* limiting, this could be a great default "end of ensemble signal chain" module. :-)

Great work, as usual. :-) But ... WE NEED SNAPSHOTS! I'm pretty ignorant when it comes to compression, or I'd make them. A nice set of (pre-)mastering snaps would be great!
