DESCRIPTION

Minor edit making the random function mono instead of poly. Thanks for spotting Paule!

Version 1.1 - Added two LFOS, one for each oscillator. Each with their own XY controller (controlling speed and amount) modulating the envelope loop speed. Even more weirdness!

Hello!

Welcome to my second Reaktor synth, the LSKlang!

In a nutshell, it’s a basic 6 voice 2 oscillator synth with fm, a ladder filter and some effects.
Where the real fun starts is that both oscillators have their own looping AD envelope. which because it’s a 6 voice synth loops the envelope of every voice and becomes some kind of crude sequencer!

Play some notes, turn on loop, change the speed of the loop and hit the random cat for some klangerous chaos! Add some frozen background texture from the grain delay and you’re off :)

The Tub effect is some kind of attempt at a reverb. I looked at a Boscomac reverb for some inspiration, but kinda just winged it halfway through and the result is very klangy :p

It’s a very playable synth as well, very velocity sensitive. This is also the case when looping the envelope so it’s easy to add accents in your ‘sequence’.

The included snapshots are quite pedestrian. It’s good at plucky, bassy, almost modal and metallic sounds but it shines when using the looping envelopes and using it as sample fodder. I’ve included two sound examples to illustrate both :) It’s all straight from the synth!

Again, the UI is very simple & clean and every knob/slider etc. has a tooltip as well.

Hope you enjoy!

Love this, esp love the foulmouthed randomiser cat, the TUB and the grain delay. And of course the LOOP. Beautiful synth.

I made a thread to give this synth more love: https://www.native-instruments.com/forum/threads/lsklang-love.363415/

You are welcome. It's well deserved! I have a question... Could you create a topic in the forum on this synth? I would like to discuss a few things and hopefully, I'm not being a pain by asking. I would love to DM you about a possible collab in the process... but there are trolls around and I would not feel comfortable leaving my email here. C.

@Claude Thanks so much! Glad you enjoy it for the quirky little thing it is. I wouldn't mind a hardware version either, preferably in the Moog semi modular format ^^

Dear Lennart... As it stands, and as it is... I have to say how much I truly love this synth. If it existed in HW, I would, right now, go out and buy it and keep it forever. It does not disappoint me in the least. I have been playing with it to no end. It will wind up on future Abox stuff for sure.

@Dirk While I appreciate the idea, I think oscillator sync wouldn't be in the spirit of this little noise machine. :p

Mir gefällt Dein Denken. Darf ich aber einen Kritikpunkt äussern? Eine Sync-Funktion,bei den Osz's (Oscillator),wäre sehr angebracht. Somit bleibt alles "auf Welle". Thumps up for your work. :-)

@bitquisite Thanks! Glad you like it :) I just added some more modulation options for more klangy fun ^^

This is really ingenious. So much fun. Love this, thank you!

Thanks guys! @Claude S. I think some internal modulation sources might be a good idea indeed to get some more motion in the whole thing :)

If you modulation matrix, even a simple one, assignable to the speed of the looping envelopes and even panning, this would make for quite some fun for this little beast.

As "simple" as this little guy is, there is so much fun to be had here. You need to keep going with this idea. Love this instrument, Lennart. It will wind up in a composition, I just know it.
