1. pick snap template.
2. randomize.
3. play!

ill tempered pad is a heraclitean synth. each time you play a note, it will sound slightly to dramatically different. try it! also try holding notes and listening to them evolve.

"The concept of evolving synth is good and this is quite musical and playable. How about getting this warmer, with living filters?' Interestingly, I actually had the dual purpose of creating some pads with this to test various 'morphing filters' demos (i.e u-he Filterscape for one). Had so much fun though never got to that phase...yet :)

Though it took me a while to get to this it was a wonderful time having a 'session' with this and 'Thing (son of)' and 't'wanGpaad' all together. So many inspirations were evoked for many, MANY hours (and I bore easily). Eventually wound up with ten hours of material for the 'sculpture' shop and garden'. Thanks for sharing :)

Rick, typically this type of question can cause one to have an "intervention" called by concerned loved ones :-) as the rabbit hole is boundless/beautiful to some, intimidating/nonsense to others, but your response is refreshing to hear(read) there are more and more of us (all thousand or so :-)...oh thanks for your latest Thing, another 10!

It LOOKS like one of your usual entries, but this one is oddly different and is quite new. Subtle, yet spicy!

yes! i think you've put your finger on one of the most characteristic aspects of my ensembles and my compositions: they are streams of consciousness. the way they sound externally is sometimes very very close to how things 'sound' internally to me, music of brain and body.

Rick, what are your thoughts on "Mind Matter Interface"? Due to your vast contributions to the UL, a pattern has emerged, and I'd like to discuss something with you, if this is of any interest to you...besides, your live in one of my old stomping grounds, I'm sure we've drank the same water. Another 10!..another "Thank You".

Just by tweaking any single preset, I think someone could create an entire soundtrack for an introspective silent movie.

1. thanks! 2. i think the icy sound derives from a mix of lpf sweeps, skewed tuning, and ring (amplitude) modulation. 'living filter' sounds cool; please elaborate.

Very icy space. I modded ADSR´s A low to 0 to get more piano-lke tones and it works ok. Evolving works even with snapshot morphing, good. The concept of evolving synth is good and this is quite musical and playable. How about getting this warmer, with living filters?

I don't know if I'd call this ill tempered, I find it well-behaved and good humored in every way.
