DESCRIPTION

Beta Test version of a Remix of Vectory style Re-Cycler as part of the Falter Funk series. This uses the Lookup Sampler.

Please Read the HINTS

Concept

The idea was to create an easy to programme breakbeat-looper/recycler that is fun and flexible to use in live real-time situations.

A 32 step Sequencer selects which part of the loop is played back, (as in Vectory)

A second "Scene Sequencer" selects programmed modulation settings for other parameters such as Pitch/Reverse/Slur/ etc, etc

To Do this yhere are 2 modes:-

1/ Programming Mode

2/ Playing/Sequencing Mode

This ensemble uses the "scene" idea that I learnt from Martin Brinkmann many years ago. Think of scenes as patches/presets that are independent to Reaktor snaps. the scenes in this ensemble, are based on the scenes structure in Lazyfish's Splitter. In that ensemble, the same knobs are used to programme a number of different scenes.

PRESS Qwerty 2 (or MIDI note 61) to select between Programme Mode or Playing Sequencer Mode.

Then you can PRESS Qwerty 3 (or MIDI note 63) to choose whether you choose the scenes with the Cell Matrix or Qwerty keys Z to > (MIDI notes 48 to 60)

Before you start to programme, maybe try the snaps and see/hear how it works.

Please ask question here or in the Reaktor forum.

Sorry about GUI, this to help with understanding rather than a sexy design ;-)

Thanks to LazyFish, Tim Exile, Joachim Schneider (Cell Matrix) Jonathan Style (for some knobs)

Hello, I have 3 questions; I noticed Stereo inputs, is possible to play as an effect? How long is the sample Break series 2bar.18.wav - how often is it altering is it possible to export the wave so to analyze? Thanks Amazing

At this rate you'll never get any comments from me phil.I'm not a samples man and i'm certainly not a beats man.I downloaded this and looplex but there's nothing for me me to say.Had a quick fidle then deleted both. I do have it's ganna grain sitting on my drive waiting to be used one day(possible top ten reaktor download/very nice)but as with marcel and le truc i tend to open have a quick fiddle and then switch off to use a synth. But then you don't give out commets to just get them back.... i'm sure.

I think this works just gine with the two sequencers. Words.

hi Richard, sorry i am not interested in building a version with individual sequencers. i actually don't like using more than 2 sequencers ;-)

a Father Amen ?! awesome. got it on the breakage. hey just wondering if you haaad any interest in making a verj with individual sequencers for each effect (although this has the same functionality technically). the best thing about this is that it's not glitchy and faulty like the original vectory, as i stated in the fun with vectory post, also less cpu and no annoying distortion monotony.

"a little curiousity still about how the bar in the top right reads or is modulated. this and the amen are nuts! " do you mean the meter above the "Press ME!!"? it is just a numerical readout telling you which bar of the sample is being triggered above is a lamp and above that a numerical readout saying which loop inside the sample is being triggered. remember when programming, use the Cell Matrix to choose the scene number. each scene can have a different break, use the List (in the Programming knobs macro) to change which loop is being played.

OMG DUDE i totally understand now. got a little confused between pressing 2 and 3. i like a lot. daddy like! thanks man. very detailed descriptions. the quantize option would be sweet. a little curiousity still about how the bar in the top right reads or is modulated. this and the amen are nuts!

hi Richie, just checking have you toggles between Play and programme using qwerty key 2? different values for Pitch, Forward or Reverse. Slur (on or off) Amplitude, Decay (really Hold) Stretch, and Loop choice can be programmed for each of the 8 scenes per snap. Toggle 2 (MIDI note 61) to switch between programming the scenes and playing the scenes. you can playback the scenes in any order you like using the scene sequencer. there is only 1 sequencer to programme where and how these parameters change (or don't). many of the snaps do in fact use just Loops 3 and 9 (that is how the 8 scenes are currently programmed). you can change this. changing the "bars" is quantized. if you change from playing bars 3 and 4 to just playing bar 1, the sequencer, waits until the end of bar 4 before going to play bar 1. moving from "All" to bar 2, the Sequencer won't move until the end of bar 4. maybe with an update i can provide a choice for quantize on or off. does this make sense?

hey phil. nice tool. i have a few things i think. are the effects supposed to be actuated in succession of the "programme or play" sequencer box? it seems to only change some loops (9-3)/ stretch/ and reverse. ............i think it would be cool if we still had sequencers for all of these but had the power to switch to your other screen as well. maybe i am misunderstanding some functionality. also sometimes when i am clicking on the bar all 1,2,3,4 etc buttons, i will be on bar 1, and click "all" and sometimes i may still be on only bar 1 say for 3 more repetitions of 1 it seems... thanks so much for your time and creativity

thanks Don, the Cell Matrix is taken from an idea by Joachim Schneider. have a look at his "16x Memory Modulation Matrix v1.0" which you can find in the UL.

Great work Phil. This looks simple, but is surprisingly deep. I love the interactrive aspect of the interface which is a kind of "instant tutorial". Cell matrix is very cool feature.
