Reaktor 5 or lower
Instrument Sampler

DESCRIPTION

The Novaphone 340 (“Grand”) is an 8-voice loop sampler designed for creating long, looping, soundscapes.

8-voice means that 8 different loops can be playing at once and by using release times up to 128 seconds it is easy to build up complex, may layered, and original sounds.

Each note played triggers the start of a new loop (if 8 loops are already playing the new loop will replace the oldest loop currently playing).

Each loop can be congured to sound different, in many different ways, by using parameters that can be both randomized when the loop is triggered and also and shaped by an envelope & LFO.

The instrument comes with samples from Simon Stockhausen (patchpool.de), Sound Iron, Felix Petrescu (Makunouchi Bento), Danibal, MobiusB (Ember Music), and me.

Also included are 62 snaps created by Simon Stockhausen, Felix Petrescu, and me.

Enjoy!

Wow. 0. Grains. 1. Its not random. 2. So you can play notes with it. 3. It sounds way back classic, but not "retro". 4. It sounds pretty usable.

This is a beautiful instrument. Thank you so much for sharing it. When I am talking to outsiders about Reaktor and the infinite universe of sounds that can be created from it, this ensemble is what I have been talking about. So much fun to play with, can't wait to use it on some tracks.

Hi Matt, the crashes were caused by loading samples...no more problem. It is a great and unusual ensemble, creating interesting sound-scapes. I even hooked up Colorflex to it, slow settings:-) Cheers

Also I'm particularly fond of playing it using the Micro-8 and Micro-12 tunings. A couple of my piano snaps use micro-8. If you're into that kinds of thing you can get some really cool sounds, I'm partial to piano and cello noises for that kind of thing. Matt

Hi Karel. Are you getting crashes *playing* Novaphone? Or in trying to load sounds? There are problems with the Reaktor granular components particularly around adding samples. You could try turning off the audio while messing with the sample map. But I've also had (occasional) crashes just from using these components. But they're rare enough not to be a hindrance for the most part. Please do report any and all crashes to NI though. If enough of us make a noise about it they will fix them. Glad you're enjoying it :) (And thanks Jim and David for the kind words) Matt

Very interesting, thank you. I changed the sound bank to Cage's tuned piano and I am getting crashes with Novaphone, for some reason...sometimes notes don't play on kbrd, sometimes bursts of sound... Besides that, it is great 10+ And Happy Holidays to you guys
