Hi everybody,
We are making the upcoming Guitar Rig 4.0.8 update available as a public beta version today. This version brings a further new amp ("Cool Plex"), the master effects section, and many functional optimizations and fixes.
This means that, starting immediately, registered Guitar Rig 4 owners can download a fully functional 4.0.8 beta version, and submit eventual bug findings to the Guitar Rig team over a special "bug tracker" web page. The public beta version has already been tested extensively by our internal testing team, but for general reasons it should still be used with caution in performance-critical environments.
So, how does this work?
- You need to be a registered Guitar Rig 4 owner to join the public beta test (this includes KOMPLETE 6)
- You can sign up for the public beta at
http://www.native-instruments.com/in...?id=publicbeta
- You will receive a dedicated password via email to access the "public beta bug tracker"
What is important to know about the public beta version?
- It will be unlocked with your existing serial number
- It requires (and overwrites) a previous Guitar Rig 4.0.7 installation on the same computer
- It is not compatible with the currently available version of Kore 2. Compatibility between Guitar Rig 4.0.8 and Kore 2 will be restored with the upcoming Kore 2.1.1 update
- All presets are backed up and patched at the first start of Guitar Rig 4.0.8. The patched presets can not be loaded with earlier versions of the software
- If you want to revert to the previous Guitar Rig 4.0.7 version for any reason, please run the master installer from the original DVD, then import the backed-up presets.
How can I report technical issues to the developers?
- Please use the "bug tracker" to report any technical issues, and try to word your findings as concise as possible
- Please understand that the Guitar Rig team cannot respond to individual bug reports - but every report will be looked into by the developers
- Please only use the bug tracker to submit bugs, which means: technical issues where the software doesn't work properly as intented
- Please do not use the bug tracker to submit feature requests or similar suggestions - this stuff belongs into the "feature request forum" instead.
What else should you know?
- In order not to confuse users of the regular Guitar Rig 4.0.7 version, please do not post 4.0.8-related topics across the forum. There is a dedicated thread for all 4.0.8 public beta discussion here:
http://www.native-instruments.com/fo...play.php?f=267
- There is no tech support given for the public beta version. Eventual technical issues with this version have to be solved in the development process.
On behalf of the Guitar Rig team, a big "thank you" in advance to everyone who joins this beta test and helps making Guitar Rig 4.0.8 the best version ever!
Regards, Thomas
