Reaktor 5 or lower
Instrument Sequencer

DESCRIPTION

I like NI Battery, because you can work very fast with it, but drumprogramming in Cubase/(Ableton) is boring and uninspiring.
Therefore I want to built a Sequencer which is specialized for Drums and has some random functions for inspiration and fun.
This tool is not much more than a modification of Massive of Reaktor 5 Library, which I like very much. My programming skills are not too great but I think this Ensemble could be worth to share with others, especially people who work with battery or some other external drum tools.

As I said, most of the technology is from the Massive ensemle, what I added is some midi functionality to control external stuff.

So if anybody like my ensemble and is able to help me ... : I want to add random funtions to the sequencer, but I have no idea, how to do that, can anybody help me with that ?

If you try this ensemble and you own Battery 3 you should test it together with the "Glitch Kit". All the patterns in the sequencer were made with this Drumkit.

Have fun!

This is such a great idea but I can't get it to work in live 8. It should not be hard to set up. Anyone get this to work with battery 3 and live 8 or 7 Thanks

I haven't downloaded this yet, but Just a thought, which is the midi clock, there's a previous mention of speed, which makes me wonder? Looks very nice though..

So weird! I cannot see any MIDI coming in. Set up as Oliver suggested in post 2008-01-12 23:55:23. Using Live 8 but I can't imagine this makes a difference... Any thoughts?? Would bre really nice to use this!

i think the previous person has the same problem as i do... the timing is horrible when i try to drive battery. but i know it's not just this sequencer having the problem. all reaktor sequencers with which i try to drive external vst instruments have it. anybody any help? i'm on ableton live 7.0.9, windows xp sp3.

A very good idea! For Using it in Ableton Live 7, put Reaktor with this ensemble in a Midi Channel, and a Drum Rack in a second. In this channel you choose MIDI From "Reaktor 5" and in the second Pull down Menu Reaktor 5 too. After that turn on "Monitor In". Its correct when the "Track Activator"-Butten becomes orange. Press Play and then look at the tiny squares in Drum Rack. Just put some sounds in the blinking squares. After that you should hear some Sounds triggerd by Reaktor 5.

Looks stunning. I wish I had the CPU to run it properly...

David, battery3 does show that midi-signals are received but i don't hear anything. So i put in the same chain NI's massive and - same over here, no single sound was triggered, so somehow this sequencer sends midi-notes out of the usual range. Did you try working with this sequencer, ableton live and battery? It confuses me that somehow i still don't get it working.

This ensemble works great in Ableton Live 7... Not sure why you are having trouble, but it's sending MIDI OUT and can be picked up by Live channels' MIDI FROM...

okay, I only tested it within Kore 2, but it works also in Cubase: Insert both Plugs as Instruments --> create Midi Channel --> In: Reaktor, Out:Battery --> click Record or Audtiton. I will look why it doesn't work in Ableton Live, it should do

somehow i'm unable to connect this ensemble within live5 to battery3, other reaktor-ensembles with midi-out work like a charme... any hints?

I can't help w the randomising but I'd give it a try on Cubase4. Cheers
