There's no manual available yet. This is still being written and I've been told it be released next month

Workflow-wise it's mostly identical to the Maschine MK3, so maybe that manual can get you started?

The manual can be found here: https://www.native-instruments.com/en/products/maschine/production-systems/maschine/downloads/

can we get any confirmation on whether or not the M+ is using the same encoders as on the MK3 (and presumably MK2/Studio)? not the knob caps (which we've seen are "improved"), but the encoder/shaft itself. are half of our knobs going to be loose after a couple weeks of using the M+ like they were on the others? this was part of the reason that i sold the Studio and MK3, ended up sticking with the MK1 (which still feels like the day i bought it). this is a pretty big concern for me with the Maschine+, especially for the price.

any talk internally about the lack of PDC (plugin delay compensation)?

i'm assuming that we can look forward to more ports of NI fx (like they did with Phasis and Raum) that can be used standalone? Driver and the more recent fx would be a great addition to the stock fx.

Sorry if this has been confirmed but is it true you cannot save patches made in the synths on Maschine +?

9th Wonder got one In addition to those mentioned above. Chill, they’re a German company, and most hip hop producers prefer their own sauce. If there’s any slack I cut NI, it’s on this topic.

True, I think there should have been just as equally a hip hop and minority represented community for the exposure of this new piece of gear but Sara? IDK about that she seems good and dope at what she does but a bit "new" knock squared should have definitely had gotten one to test.. probably Saint Joe would be first in line though since he basically reviews everything lol but he's MIA from NI forum for a while if not years and years .

Honestly NI is Germany based and techno driven lol I see nothing wrong with that, but they should have surely got one into the hands of someone that's from the black community and hopefully hip hop or at least Detroit based or something.

BUT for what its worth I was pleasantly surprised when I was greeted with man with a tan demoing its debut even if it seemed a bit cliche because it looked like he was on an island lol.. Come on there doesn't need to be an excuse of tan man lives on an island so it makes it ok. I was actually kind of offended with that token image.

Nobody has sent me a unit.
This shows that NI hates me.

Please see my response here: https://www.native-instruments.com/forum/threads/announcing-maschine.423717/page-11#post-1992001

I have shown an early beta unit to Saint Joe last year already to got his feedback on it. He and Accurate were the first ones to see it in person, and to test that very early unit.

Saint Joe went nuts when he saw that it could do more than 8 audio tracks. All pads with effects on them, and pitching everything up and down by crazy amounts and it still sounded good. Because this is exactly his workflow, he uses his iPad as a sound source, and records those loops into his MPC right now, but was always limited to just 8 audio tracks. Maschine+ gets rid of that limitation for him.

And the reason why Bo and Accurate got beta units is simple: they are based in Europe. Companies have to be super secretive with new hardware, we cant simply ship that around the world, especially not with a world wide pandemic going on, and post getting lost left and right. Also because these units had to be send back to the office for updates, as back then OTA updates did not work yet.

Same answer as above. Calling out things when you think racism is good, but don't assume things directly, ask first and see if things are really the way you think they are :)

"man with a tan", are you serious right now?

Are you talking about the walkthrough video with Boris? Who is our long time product specialist, does all the Maschine videos, and is one of the best finger drummers around?

Or are you talking about this announcement video with Simdal? Who is part of the German hiphop scene for close to 10 years already

We had to work on this campaign while covid19 is going on, and doing a video shoot is far from easy. In the USA it's an absolute no-go, and impossible to do. So we did this in Berlin, and worked with Simdal, who plays a big part in the German hiphop scene, and is an actual Maschine user.

Just wanted to say that personally, considering this is pre-launch, and during COVID-19, I'm impressed by the volume and diversity of the demographics you've gotten units to already, and I've always been impressed with the outreach you've done in regards to diversity, not just in demographics of people, but in representations of the different sounds from around the globe. It's easily on a par with that of Waves, perhaps even beyond.

Thanks Hammy, that's very nice to hear!

We're also including local creators and artist in Latin America, France, Germany, China and Japan. Sadly covid is making this all a bit harder than we would have liked. But I cant wait to see what comes from the artists there, as hiphop is huge outside of the States too

Then a new expansion drops and there's a ton of comments saying "NI only cares about hip-hop man, all expansions are for hip-hop, can we pls have XYZ genre? " Tough crowd...

I’m a social justice activist in Seattle, so I am primed to notice these kinds of things. And I admit, I did notice that the first units I saw in the wild were with white folks. It did raise a question in my mind, but I knew that NI usually gets these units to Sarah, DDS, Jeia, Knock, etc. — so I held any criticism, and I’m glad I did. I think NI has a good track record on this topic, and I think Mick’s explanation that some white folks got theirs first is a function of location and pandemic circumstances makes sense. Thanks for addressing it, Mick. No harm done!

Speaking of genres; the TruTorial series were great, a nice mix of stuff and awesome information density considering how short each video is. Would love to see more, they were a great way of seeing how the same tools can be used differently across genres. I was surprised to learn so much (I've read the manuals  ), but seeing someone's different approach to the same tool was refreshing and inspiring.

The eight touch encoders below the screen have been re-engineered and feel a lot more solid. They will now have a consistent torque both out of the box and for the lifetime of the unit. The baseline torque level is a little stiffer than the MK3 as well which makes it even better for making precise micro-adjustments.

I know Knock said his was on the way. 9th hasn't posted anything yet. But we been asking for certain things and they have yet to come. I am sure on October 1st the new software is going to cost me, but Im cool with that. I just wish the hip hop influencers got the same privilege as the others.

Thanks for the clarity. All I know is who is posting with units on yoututbe and IG. On another note, Flux was on the team hard and now he is no longer in NI good graces. I use both Maschine and MPC, so I'm good either way. It just seems Akai is more supportive of the Hip Hop community. NI still has better sounds, effects, and workflow in my opinion. But I guess that's because I learned on Maschine.
