    Hello,

I am new here, because I was blown away by the Noire Piano.
I bought Kontakt and Noire yesterday. I set it all up in Studio one 4.

    I have a 3rd gen i7 CPU
    16GB DDR RAM
    Focusrite 2i2 first gen
    Using ASio4all driver

The problem is the sound sounds dull and thin.
it doesn't sound like it does in this video for example:

Are there any settings that I need to be aware of in Kontakt?

I already tried to increase buffer size, but it only adds latency but does nothing to the sound.

I hope I can fix it, cause I want to use this piano in my productions.
    Thanks in advance.

    With Kind regards,

    Alex Johnson

The first thing I would check is the velocity curve. Buffer size has no relation to sound quality, only latency.

Dull, thin, I would be looking at reverb and eq.

    Hello,

Thank you both. I checked the velocity and it didn't make the sound better. I am clearly hearing a difference in the Noire pure and Noire Felt, the latter sounding fuller and more pleasant. I tried reinstalling, but this didn't work.

If anyone has any other ideas I would love to try them out.

    With kind regards,

    Alex Johnson.

So have you twiddled with anything on the gui? I'm talking twiddling not tweaking.

Exactly. Look at the first GUI in the video and set your GUI to match it exactly. If you don't get the same sound then the problem is elsewhere, maybe in your audio interface and/or your DAW. You may have to tweak your audio interface and/or Studio One Pro if you don't match that sound with things like timbre, reverb or type of reverb, compression, gain, etc.

    Good luck

PS - you might want to try the above in stand alone mode first to eliminate your DAW.

    I hadn't touched anything.

In standalone i cant get my midi keyboard to work. This was something I thought of, but that's another problem now :D.

But thanks, I really don't know what it is.
