This thread provides information about upcoming patches for Maschine. It will be updated whenever new information becomes available. --------- The currently available software version is 2.6.8. Please make sure that your installation is up to date. System Requirements: MacOS 10.11 or 10.12 (latest update), Intel Core i5, 2 GB RAM (4 GB recommended) Windows 7, 8, or 10 (latest Service Pack, 32/64-bit), Intel Core i5 or equivalent CPU, 2 GB RAM (4 GB recommended) --------- Version 2.6.8 - 2017-08-21 New in Maschine 2.6.8: Bass Synth for MASCHINE This is MASCHINE's first internal synthesizer. You can find all the important parameters for shaping your sound on the first parameter page. On the 2nd page, you can find the glide parameter, which works especially well if you modulate it. On MASCHINE JAM, the upper row of the PIANO ROLL is where you program glides similar to a well known bass synthesizer with internal sequencer. This only works for the Bass Synth. Isomorphic keyboard layout for MASCHINE JAM MASCHINE JAM now offers an alternative layout to play melodies. It is more intuitive and can be learned easily. Simply touch the encoder while in KEYBOARD mode to expose the on-screen overlay and set the PAD LAYOUT parameter to "ISOMORPH”. Fixed Issues: MASCHINE crashed in rare cases while saving a project MASCHINE JAM could freeze when switching instances while using the smart strips MASCHINE JAM PERFORM FX potentially stayed engaged when changing group focus while using PERFORM FX In some cases the Randomizer did not respect the set scale Spoiler: Previous Versions Version 2.6.7 Hotfix - 2017-07-19 FIXED an issue where, when loading a project, it was possible that not all samples would load and no error message about the missing samples would be shown. Version 2.6.6 - 2017-07-03 Ideas View Improvements Release. ADDED Drag-to-Reorder/Duplicate Scenes in Ideas View You can drag Scenes left or right to re-order them at the top of the Ideas View. This is purely a visual feature which does not affect the current Arrangement. You can also hold ALT (or CTRL on PC) to perform a drag-and-duplicate to quickly make new instances of Scenes before experimenting with new Pattern combinations. ADDED Drag-to-Reorder/Duplicate Groups in Ideas View As in the Arranger view, it's now possible to drag the Groups left and right in the Ideas view to re-order them. Furthermore, by holding ALT (or CTRL on PC), you can drag-and-duplicate Groups to quickly make additional layers or secondary Groups for sound experimentation. ADDED Drag-and-drop content onto Groups in Ideas View As in the Arranger view, it's now possible to load new content from the Browser onto Groups in the Ideas View. Simply drag the content onto the Group name at the bottom of the Ideas View. ADDED Set Macro in Software Simply right-click on the name of a control (the text below the knob, switch, or menu) and choose 'Create Master/Group/Sound Macro' to add a Macro control to the Master, Group, or Sound level, or choose 'Remove Master/Group/Sound Macro' to remove the control from the current Macro list. ADDED 'Manage Products…' option in the File menu Use this to launch Native Access in order to install a new KONTAKT NKS library or instrument. After authorization and installation, the new product will be available for use in MASCHINE's Browser. FIXED Pressing up on keyboard while focused on an empty cell in the top row of the Ideas view would create a Pattern FIXED When pinning the DUPLICATE or AUTO page on JAM, this would also cause the view to toggle between Ideas and Arranger FIXED SHIFT+SCENE did not toggle Ideas/Arranger views when the Duplicate page was pinned on FIXED Dragging MIDI export from the Pattern Editor into a new Pattern FIXED Playhead would not always wrap to beginning of Scene until host playback was started FIXED Scale Type was not retained when dragging an Instrument/Sound/Sample to the '+' in the Arranger View FIXED Events erased via ERASE+GROUP were still being played back FIXED The wrong sample would sometimes be loaded when dragging in new samples from the Files tab of the Browser KNOWN ISSUE Loading items with ENTER in the Browser Results List When MASCHINE is hosted as a plug-in, it is not possible to load items from the Browser Results List using ENTER on the computer keyboard. KNOWN ISSUE The focus-follow is broken when mixing 32/64bit plugins MASCHINE and KOMPLETE KONTROL focus-follow features do not support combined 32bit/64bit plug-ins in a session. Both MASCHINE and KOMPLETE KONTROL plug-in instances must be 64bit for the focus-follow features to work correctly. KNOWN ISSUE Resizing issues on dual screen REAKTOR window cannot be resized if MASCHINE is being used in a dual screen setup where the primary window is larger than the secondary window. KNOWN ISSUE MASCHINE cannot be installed on case-sensitive file systems 2.6.5: “+Routing” button added to Group Browser. When active, Audio and MIDI routings saved in the Group will be loaded with the Group. When deactivated, Audio and MIDI routings will not be loaded (thus preserving any existing Audio and MIDI routings set by the user). Ideas View has been added to MASCHINE which provides an overview of the Patterns and Scenes in the current Project similar to the grid layout of the MASCHINE JAM controller. Scenes and Patterns can be created and combined in this view without affecting the current arrangement. Select the Scene to edit by clicking a Scene button at the top of the grid, then click Patterns in the grid to assign them to the Scene (assigned Patterns are brightly lit). To un-assign an assigned Pattern, simply click on it. To create new Patterns in this view, double-click in an empty grid cell. A new button has been added for toggling between Ideas and Arranger Views. Keyboard shortcuts of CMD+1 and CMD+2 allow for switching to Ideas View and Arranger View, respectively. From the JAM controller, pressing the SONG button will toggle between Ideas and Arranger Views. On the 4x4 pad controllers, Ideas and Arranger Views can be accessed via the NAVIGATE screen or quickly toggled by pressing SHIFT+SCENE. In Arranger View, arrangements are created by making Sections and selecting a Scene to use in each of the Sections. This allows for the same Scene to be used multiple times in the arrangement, each with their own independent lengths. It’s also possible to assign no Scene to the Section (for silence). From the hardware controllers, the SCENE buttons are used to access Sections when Arranger View is active. When creating a new Section in the Arranger View, it will be empty (no Scene) by default. Scenes can be assigned by right-clicking on the Section and choosing a Scene from the “Select >” menu. On the Classic MASCHINE and STUDIO controllers, Scene assignment, Section Position and Length can be set using the knobs below the screens. From the JAM controller, simply hold a SCENE button (referring to the Section you want to edit) and rotate the Encoder to select a Scene for the Section. (NOTE: Because of this change, adjusting the Loop Range from JAM is now done by pushing down on the Encoder and turning it while holding a SCENE button). In the Ideas View, right-clicking on a Scene and selecting “Append to Arrangement” will create a new Section at the end of the arrangement and will assign the Scene to it. You can mute Groups in the Ideas View by left-clicking, or solo by right-clicking, on the Group Names (e.g. “A1”, “B1”, etc.) And improvement has also been made where Expansion Packs which use REAKTOR 5 will now be automatically loaded into REAKTOR 6 if only REAKTOR 6 or REAKTOR 6 PLAYER is installed. Added a preference for the JAM hardware which enables a second illumination mode where selected Patterns are shown in white and unselected Patterns are shown in a bright color. This can improve the visibility of the Pattern Matrix in certain lighting situations. Fixed Issues: Fixed a bug where very short loop ranges could lead to a crash. Fixed an issue where the audio export of a Pattern would be the incorrect length if the containing Scene was longer than the Pattern’s length. MIKRO: Fixed an issue where Scenes with 2-digit names would be unnecessary truncated on the display. WINDOWS: Fixed an issue where knob values would jump when adjusting them with the mouse when the screen magnification was greater than 100%. Fixed an issue where Group input side chain settings were not being recalled when reloading a Project. Fixed an issue for the MIDI CC controls where the minimum and maximum ranges were different between the software and hardware controls. Fixed an issue with the Beatdelay effect where setting 0% feedback would cause a feedback loop. Fixed an issue where clipping/loud feedback could occur when the Compressor's sidechain width is 100% and gain is 1.00. Fixed an issue where MASCHINE would quit after clicking “Cancel” during a Save-on-Quit. Fixed an issue where MASCHINE could crash after undoing and redoing Chord settings. Fixed an issue where Bluecataudio Patchwork would crash MASCHINE. JAM: Fixed an issue where changing QuickEdit mode while holding the Encoder in QuickEdit mode results in undefined mode. JAM: Group Bank now follows Group Focus in the software. Save Project with Samples now remembers the last folder used. STUDIO: Fixed an issue on the Events page where, when holding ERASE + rotating the Jog Wheel to delete events, one too many events would sometimes be erased. Fixed an issue where the mouse cursor would sometimes disappear after dragging a knob when using MASCHINE as a plug-in in Pro Tools under Windows. Known Issues When MASCHINE is hosted as a plug-in, it is not possible to load items from the Browser Results List using ENTER on the computer keyboard. MASCHINE and KOMPLETE KONTROL focus-follow features do not support combined 32bit/64bit plug-ins in a session. Both MASCHINE and KOMPLETE KONTROL plug-in instances must be 64bit for the focus-follow features to work correctly. REAKTOR window cannot be resized if MASCHINE is being used in a dual screen setup where the primary window is larger than the secondary window. MASCHINE cannot be installed on case-sensitive file systems. --------- Patch status explanation specification - the changes to the software are defined, including details of new features and the list of fixes. in development - the code of the software is being worked on by the developers. beta testing - the new version is checked by a testing group for functionality, stability and compatibility. final testing - the update goes through a final series of standardized tests prior to release.
