S61 driver - Code 1 issue

    Hi folks. Has anyone heard of "Code 1" problem with the S61 Windows driver? That's what my Device Manager is reporting. I'm on Win7, and cannot get the S61 keyboard to work, although the knobs and display sometimes does. I've tried multiple fixes, updates, re-installs, etc., so any other advice would be appreciate.

    [I've found the knowledge-base article relating to Code 19, which is a similar problem to the one I'm having. But Code 19 supposedly affects Win8 and Win10, not 7. And my issue is Code1.]
