Is there a way you can just loop 4 bars? Why do they have the sample in seconds can they do that in bars

What I'm doing is importing a sample and trying to loop 4 bars of that. I know how to loop something and how to set start and ends obviously but its just difficult and I was looking for a step by step way to sample a 4 bar thing and have it loop seamlessly.

Because you need to know the tempo/ beats for it to know how many bars it will play .
10 sec could be 1 bar or 10 bars depending on the tempo/speed/beats it plays

So the sample is longer than four bars but you want 4 bars cut from it? And your playing back at the orignal tempo
I'd slice the sample so I have the four bars, put it on a pad , make a four bar pattern , I prefer the sampler in adsr mode but one shot will work , add a midi event to trigger the sample in adsr mode the length of the midi note controls how much of the sample is played so make that note four bars long , now adjust the tempo unless you know it until the whole sample play , put maschine seq loop on

    Here is a calculator
    http://mp3.deepsound.net/eng/samples_calculs.php

One of them works out bpm from milliseconds, give it a try

This is why sampling is an art.. u want the software to do it for u... u must not be good at math or a student for that matter... u want us to do your homework.. technology is to help not make a lazy person lazier

You need to learn the basics of looping stuff.
There is some good advice on this thread, but don't blame the tools; increase your knowledge.

Load sample, set start marker, set to ADSR, stick a 4 bar note into a four bar pattern, hit play, adjust tempo until it seamlessly loops, done.

    EDIT - what Aldred said

Utilize your tap tempo? You can do this with Maschine hardware, or use a tap tempo website, you go to the sample edit page and on the stretch tab you will get a pretty accurate approximation of the bpm of the sample. Beyond these options, you are asking us/machine to do all the work for you....
