  • New effects: Kolor, Skreamer Deluxe, Superfast, Wow & Flutter, Freak, and Bite have been added to the Amps & Effects browser.

  • New cabinets: New cabinets have been added to the Amps & Effects browser.

  • Just intonation: The Tuning control on the Guitar Settings page now features just intonation.

  • Killswitch: Pressing the Bb keyswitch with a velocity below 65 cuts out the direct sound but not the effects.

  • Extended playing range: To accommodate for extra low notes, the entire playing range has been shifted and extended by one octave.

About Session Guitarist - Electric Storm Deluxe

Electric Storm Deluxe combines a pattern-based guitar library with a sophisticated multisample set, designed to deliver authentic-sounding riffs, picking, and strumming patterns for songwriting and music production. Its samples originate from a custom-made Framus 8-string guitar with a 30" scale, designed specifically for high gain and ultra-low tuning. This unique instrument features a humbucker bridge pickup and a single coil neck pickup, which are both available in Electric Storm Deluxe, either individually or combined.

To enhance the sound further, a vintage dynamic microphone was mounted above the strings and recorded through a vintage Neve preamp to capture the acoustic resonance, which can be dialed in to add presence and clarity. The instrument’s pickup signals were recorded through the DI inputs of a vintage Universal Audio 2-610 preamp, connected via Gibson Pure cables to achieve the highest sonic integrity. The signals were then converted using an Antelope Orion Gen4 A/D converter and fed via MADI to an RME MADIface XT, both externally clocked by an Antelope Audio 10MX Rubidium atomic clock.

A total of 270 patterns, covering a wide range of musical genres and playing styles, were performed live by professional session guitarists Oliver Schmidt, Matthias Kirchgessner, Eduard Hausauer, Joschi Joachimsthaler, and Jonas Roßner. Special emphasis was placed on sound design and effect patterns, as well as reverse sounds, to enrich and expand the sonic palette. The library includes single notes in numerous articulations, round-robin variants, and velocities across almost five octaves.

Electric Storm Deluxe offers 54 meticulously curated sound presets, categorized into clean, crunch, distortion, high gain, modulation, lead, and SFX/scoring. Each preset incorporates up to 24 effects, including equalizers, reverbs, tape emulations, compressors, and more. New additions from Guitar Rig 7 Pro, including two stompboxes and the Superfast100 amplifier, expand the sonic possibilities.

For the first time in the Session Guitarist series, Electric Storm Deluxe introduces multiple parallel FX chains, offering advanced sound design options. These include using different amplifiers for the left and right channels, creating custom FX chains for the microphone signal, or blending clean and high gain tones for hybrid sounds.

Riffs, strumming, and picking patterns are organized into 63 song presets, each containing four to eight patterns. These patterns come with matching chord progressions that can be dragged and dropped into a DAW for MIDI editing. Patterns can be triggered via key switches and played as chords on a MIDI keyboard. When using Electric Storm Deluxe within a host sequencer or DAW, the playback stays in sync with the host tempo.

The core of Electric Storm Deluxe is its advanced playback engine, which allows seamless switching between patterns and dynamic control in real time, creating lifelike musical performances. With all timing and dynamic nuances of the original performances preserved, the instrument feels natural and organic. Every pattern performs beautifully across a wide tempo range, delivering outstanding sound quality for any production.
