At Refraction's heart lies a beautifully recorded upright piano, captured through an array of premium microphones and a vintage analogue tape echo running a worn tape loop for gloriously dirty, warbling character.
Its ingenious resonator engine captures held notes and passes them through a tuned harmonic filter bank, polyphonically tracking every note you play. Mute the piano entirely and play the resonances alone, transforming the instrument into shimmering, otherworldly pads sculpted purely from its own harmonics.
