Deus Ex 7
Unfinished DX7 Emulator/Poor Man's FM8
DESCRIPTION
Do whatever the hell you like with it. Use it, bug-test it, improve it, whatever. Even re-up with your own improvements if you really like. Just don't sell it, or claim it as your own. That would be a dick move.
Originally intended to be /like/ FM8 but with all of the functional limitations of the DX7 (which if you're anything like me you'll see as creative opportunities rather than hindrances) and none of the headache of having to program with little rubber buttons. One knob per function; exactly as all synthesis should be.
Some notes:
[*] I started this several months ago with the intention of recreating some of the DX7's factory patches, but quickly got bored of the idea because it was taking weeks to do, there are much easier ways to attain those sounds (see below) and I had other more interesting ideas to realise besides emulating redundant 80s synthesizers. If you fancy having a go at recreating some of the Factory patches, please, be my guest. Although the Sysex files for them are freely available on the internet and can be imported into FM8 (just saying)
[*] The arpeggiator is half-finished and doesn't work in its current form. As above; feel free to finish that yourself if you're so inclined.
[*] I've only been confident in Core a few months, let me know if there's any programming in here glaringly ridiculously bad or could be otherwise improved. As this is for all intents and purposes a work in progress I'll happily take any advice on how to improve that I can.
[*] It's a CPU hog (sorry)
