A distinctive sound

Usually found in parts of northern Ghana, Burkina Faso, and south-eastern Mali. Hardwood keys are suspended over calabash gourds. Silk or paper covers small holes in the gourds which resonate to produce the characteristic buzzing. Wassolou Balafon comes with an 800 MB library, ideal for bringing a fresh sound to compositions and productions.

About Soniccouture

Soniccouture develops virtual instruments and sample libraries for composers and producers. They have been working in close partnership with Native Instruments and the Kontakt platform since 2005 to change the way sampled instruments are regarded by musicians. Combining unprecedented levels of detail with organic performance programming, established Soniccouture as one of the most original and innovative instrument developers. Today, with a wide catalog of instruments already available, Soniccouture continues to explore the limits of what is possible with sampling.
