The S4 can be used in the alternative standalone mixer mode without a computer. This means you can mix external audio such as turntables on the S4. In this case, the Mixer FX knob doubles-up as a filter.
2. Can I use the TRAKTOR KONTROL S4 with turntables in order to play real vinyl?

Yes – you can connect turntables and play real vinyl using the phono inputs on channels A and B.
3. Can I use the TRAKTOR KONTROL S4 with a DVS setup?

Yes – connect your turntables and go to TRAKTOR’s preferences to configure your timecode setup. Please note that this only works with TRAKTOR timecode vinyl. Learn how to set up your TRAKTOR KONTROL S4 for DVS here.
4. Can I use the TRAKTOR KONTROL S4 without spinning jog wheels?

Yes, the S4 can also be used in classic Jog Mode.
5. What pitch fader range do the decks have in Turntable mode?

6. Can I use it without a computer?

7. Can I use it without a power supply?

12. Can I use Mixer FX and the filter simultaneously?

The filter and Mixer FX are controlled by the same knob. Mixer FX combine a low or high-pass filter with additional effect modulation in a single control.
13. Are the jog wheels motorized?

14. Can I change the mapping?

The S4 can be custom-mapped via TRAKTOR’s Controller Manager in the preferences.
15. Can I use it as a MIDI controller for other software?
